My long distance boyfriend and I were meeting up in Amsterdam, and we wanted to stay somewhere unique. The boat itself was amazing...Good location, close enough to everything but still not a terribly busy street. The bed was fantastic, the kitchen was nice, it had everything you would need for a nice, relaxing stay. The owner was very nice and super helpful...he was flexible in meeting me, which was nice because I flew in very early and flew out fairly late. Usually hotels, you have certain check in/check out periods and if you are there before or after, you have to wait. He was also helpful with finding thing in Amsterdam...I needed to buy certain foods to make my boyfriend a special dinner and he helped me locate the nearest grocery store and provided the dutch word for the food I wanted.

All in all, this was an outstanding, unique place to stay in Amsterdam! I will definitely stay here again!

We stayed on the Prinsenboat for five nights with our two children, ages 4 and 6. The houseboat was exceptionally located, very spacious, well equipped and great value. We could explore Amsterdam from this central locale, well supplied with a supermarket around the corner and trams 50m away. The kids loved feeding the ducks, and got a kick out of seeing our houseboat when we went by on a canal cruise! The boat was comfortable and warm, quiet for sleeping (comfortable beds), plenty of bedding, and none of the rocking we were worried about. I would highly recommend this as a unique exciting self catering option. Great coffee nearby at de koffie salon

We were hoping our decision to choose a houseboat instead of an apartment overlooking a canal would be the right one, and it was! Peter was waiting for us on our arrival at the houseboat, despite the fact we had been delayed for more than an hour in getting there. He made us feel comfortable from the outset. We arrived during a warm spell at the beginning of October and the canal was a hive of activity. It was simply wonderful to sit by the large windows and watch all the small boats go by. They thought we were locals! The houseboat was comfortable enough, with a huge bed (although little space for hanging or storing clothes), a large living area, a kitchenette and a compact bathroom with a hot shower. The location is wonderful, on one of Amsterdam's principal canals and in a lovely, quiet part of the city. It is within walking distance of Amsterdam's main attractions and immediately adjacent to the Utrechtsestraat, which has many great little restaurants, bars and a great music store "Concerto". We loved it!

For the four of us, it was the first time we stayed on a houseboat. And we enjoyed it very much. No sea-sickness, we slept like babies ! The boat is very nice arranged and the kitchen well-equipped. The couch is too small to two adults sleep on, but it would be enough for two children. The king-size-bed is a dream!! The bathroom - with a shower - is also very nice and clean. Everything on the boat is easy to use and practical. We felt free and very well. What do you need more ?

Peter, the boat's owner, is very friendly and flexible. He gave us some tips about the city, left us the key and that was it. He didn't come every day to the boat to look at what we were doing or if we broke something.

Next time we go to Amsterdam we will book the Prinsenboat. Definitely ! Enjoy your stay there.
