“Lovely, classy hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 July 2011

This was a friendly, clean hotel with good facilities and the customary steep Amsterdam stairs! It is well located within easy walking distance from Vondelpark, the museums and the concert hall.

I was especially impressed with the shower which had good water pressure and temperature control in a generously-sized cubicle. The beds were wonderfully soft and comfortable too. Enjoyed the buffet breakfast included in the rate which was very relaxing with classical music piped into the breakfast room. However, I thought the best thing was their beautiful ginger cat often found curled up on the chair just outside our 1st floor room!

Top tip: there's a kettle in the room but no tea/ coffee or spoons, cups etc. so bring some along if you fancy a cuppa after a day's sightseeing!

“lovely, clean and comfy place”

Hotel Verdi is a quick tram trip from Central Station and easily connects to trams to take you all over Amsterdam. It's a real quiet little spot a few blocks off of a very main street. Once you deliver your luggage it's very easy to take a tram to where you want to go or walk--nothing in Amsterdam is that far away.

I had a basic single room, shower but shared toilet upstairs and even though I was right above reception and on the street it seemed very quiet to me. I even slept with my window open to get that cool summer air in and was fine. Breakfast was a nice inclusion (when I was researching places it seemed like many hotels in AMS don't include it). The breakfast room was very pleasant with music playing and a nice spread for such a small hotel.

“Very Convenient”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 June 2011

This was the first hotel we stayed at on our “European Adventure” and it was my favorite. The family that runs the hotel were very polite and gave us tips on the weather when we were over dressed for the day (big bonus when you don’t have a clue on the weather!) The breakfast that was offered had plenty of selection and it was great that it was included. The location of Hotel Verdi was close to transportation lines, but not so close that you got all the sounds that come along with transportation. The room was simple, two twin beds and a sink in the room. There was a bathroom and shower on the same floor. Were able to connect to Wi-Fi, access in the dinning room was great, our room was spotty. Stairs are steep, due to the Amsterdam structures, however that appears to be the case anywhere there. Would defiantly recommend Hotel Verdi with no qualms.

“Basic accommodation, reasonable rates, warm hospitality”

I had a single room which I originally booked for 2 nights but ended up staying 5. The room was comfortable but was definitely no frills. The location is in a very nice neighborhood near the concert hall and Van Gogh museum. This family run hotel is staffed with caring, kind people. I would stay here again.

“Excellent staff, lovely rooms, squeaky floors and cute cat.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 May 2011

We stayed here for 3 nights and it was lovely. The family who run it are very helpful. The hotel is lovely and clean. Our room was big with lovely big windows. Beds are comfy. The floors are v squeaky so hard to creep round at night. Lovely shower. Beware the stairs as with any amsterdam accommodation. They have a cute cat called Mona and a nice garden off the breakfast room. Breakfast was lovely with lots of choice. The little tv was good for evening entertainment and hotel is close to nightlife and museums. It was quiet as it is away from main roads. there was some noise from passers by at night but the windows blocked most of the noise and it cant be helped as we went over the weekend. Best out of the 3 hotels we stayed at for our city break.
