Close to Leidseplein, wide range of choices for restaurants and night life. Quiet and safe 10 minutes walking to Leidseplein. Our room was comfortable and clean. We had good rest.
We were there 4 days in October 2011, was the last 2nd stop of our honeymoon. We were happy to stay there and didn't ruin our vacation mood at all after 14 days Mediterranean cruise of Star Princess.
It is family operated business, they care each customer very much. Dennis and other staffs were very helpful and friendly.

Only spent a night in Amsterdam enroute to elsewhere in the Netherlands. Hotel not downtown (an advantage to us) but was easy to reach from Centraal Station via the tram system. Staff were very friendly and helpful with maps and instructions how to get to various sites. Hotel is narrow with scary steep stairs but you don't have to use them as there is an elevator for folks with a fear of heights. Room wasn't large but adequate and looked out into a courtyard area so was quiet at night. The hotel put on a very good breakfast buffet and were helpful in taking care of bags after we checked out and wanted to do some more looking around. Overall would recommend.

The key here is: reasonable price. Hotels are expensive in Amsterdam. I booked an appartment for 3 persons for 160€. The appartment, located on the opposite side of the street, was huge, the interior tasteful, only the beds a bit narrow. Excellent bathroom. Limited breakfast buffet but of very good quality. (Good coffee in Holland? Trust me...) Very friendly staff. Rather good location, close to museum quarter and Leidseplein but quite a distance from Central Station. Main disadvantage: no parking. So if you come here, either obey rule number one for traveling to Amsterdam by car (i.e.: DON'T) or don't fret about either paying 8€ an hour for parking, or driving half an hour to a car park and coming back by (slow) tram.

This is a great hotel for a reasonable price. The location was ideal, away from the hustle and bustle but close enough to walk into the centre. The service was friendly and helpful although we were asked to pay when we checked in, so we did therefore ask to see the room beforehand which was lovely. We had also kindly been upgraded to a larger room which had all the mod cons, nicely decorated, comfy bed with a very good clean bathroom. Would recommend this hotel for those who want to stay in a peaceful area near the lovely Museum and Jordaan area.
