I booked a room at this hotel through their website. About a couple days later I got an email from the hotel saying that the reservation had been cancelled with "due to the following reason: as requested from Mr. Ed".

I sent them several emails asking them to confirm that room reservation has indeed been cancelled and the reason for it being cancelled. I have not received any response.

Hopefully my credit card will not be charged on the day that I was supposed to have arrived.

Too bad I would have loved to have tried this hotel considering how close it is to the main museums.

clean and comfortable, and great location, but a little imagination to the decor would have been nice plain white walls throughout made it rather drab, over priced for what you get.

Hotel is just between the museumplein, with the rijkmuseum, vangogh museum, the vondelpark and the heineken brewery, and leidseplein, where you can find anything you want to eat.
My stay has been perfect.

The location is perfect, less than 5 mins walk from Leidseplein and from there you take tram 1,2 or 5 to the central station in 10-15 mins. The Hotel itself is a a nice, clean place and the staff is very friendly. But one minute after check-out time, the cleaner knocks on your door!! The bathroom is simple but clean and sufficient. Small stairs indeed, but do-able. In the end you only carry your luggage twice, so it's do-able. It is however an old building, so nearby closed doors and upstairs walking you will hear. But only three rooms shared our hallway, so not much people walked by. But for the money I paid, I did expect a bit more... But overall I didn't regret it and I would go here again (if they lower their prices a bit ;-)
