I returned from a 3-night stay at this hotel covered in bites from bed bugs. Yes the location is great and the staff are friendly and welcoming, but it is not super clean. BE WARNED!

After staying here numerous times in the past, i feel that i should finally review the Hotel 'Torry'. First of all its right bang in the Red Light District, ideal if your with a group of lads and like minded lasses for that matter. But if your prudish in any way, i'd give it a miss.

The bar doubles up as reception and its open 24 hours. Its really a good bar with a cracking computerised jukebox of about 1,000,000 songs on it , so something for everyone.

The rooms are tired but clean enough, i've never had any problems. There are communal showers on each floor which i personly think is better rather than en-suite, as they tend to be cleaner.

All in all i've never had a bad time here, though i think its pricey but i guess its all about location, location, location

Stayed at the Hotel Torenzicht with 3 pals (all 30 somethings). over a long weekend in November 2006. We stayed in the quad room which had it's own bathroom and shower. For 80 quid each (for the 3 nights) and staying in a capital city, we werent expecting much but we were pleasantly surprised. It was clean enough and we certainly didnt get bitten over the weekend (well not by any bugs or mites!!)
The staff were friendly enough and the 24 hour bar was brilliant. They have a large screen showing all the footy and the bar is smoke friendly which is a bonus. Infact we spent a lot of the weekend sat in the bar (on the high seating area) with many pints of Oranje Boom and many biftas, watching the world go by!!
Location is ideal...situated right in the middle of the red light district.
Would defo recommend, infact it was that good me and my 3 mates have just booked up and and are going back again in June!!

Stayed in Hotel Torenzicht was very basic
Was o.k but certain people who stayed there let
It down by going to the toilet on the toilet floors!!
My freind and i ended up getting rashes up our legs
from the bed linen.
And there were funny stains on the walls.
And also excrement up the toilet doors and floor.
We ended up leaving the hotel a day early.
And going sumwere else.
We told the manager our reasons for leaving
All she said was sorry and gave us a beer!!
Not even a refund of money!.
Will not be going there again very dissapointed.
