We had the good fortune last week to be able to return to Suite 259 for a business trip in Amsterdam, for the first time since 2008. Our visit was a relatively short 4 nights, but it was as if we had never been gone.
We had an early flight from the US, but Peter and Aziz had our room ready so we could check in at 8:30 in the morning - and Peter came out to meet us as with big hugs as we made the short walk from the tram stop less than 50 yards away.
We have stayed in top international hotels, and the quality of the room, the service, and the breakfasts at Suite 259 is at least as good if not better. Everything from the flowers, the wine, and the refreshments in the refrigerator are provided to suit your preferences.
Aziz always makes the most amazing breakfasts - and given my husband's meeting schedule, he made breakfast ahead of time and left it in the refrigerator the night before, so he would have something before hading out. I then had his regular breakfast, which was scrumptious. Peter and Aziz also suggested things to do, and highlighted new sites in Amsterdam, such as the new Hermitage Collection, and helped us to set up restaurant reservations. But even with their willingness to help, they let the suite feel like our own place during our visit.
Even after four previous visits, Suite 259 continues to exceed our expectations! But don't stay here if you are concerned about being spoiled so much you will never want to stay in another hotel again!
One final note - don't be afraid that Suite 259 is too far away from the center of town - it is a short 10-minute walk to Leidseplein, and the compactness of the center of Amsterdam means that you're not far from anything - and especially with the #1 tram just outside your door, the entire city of Amsterdam is easily accessible.
