I always use trip advisor when looking for hotels and this one was much better than the reviews give it credit.
I always tend to travel to cheaper hotels and this is one of the best I have been too.

We went to Amsterdam for a few days and stayed at Frisco Inn two nights. The hotel is in a perfect location. Less than 20 meters from the Damrak street, and yet in a quiet location. The rooms where clean and very comfortable. We had a room on the front side of the hotel and the noise was minimal. TV worked and had english channels and the shower room was more than adequate and clean.
I would defiantly recommend.

We didn't have a breakfast there so can't judge but there is some very nice bakery's and cafe's round the corner.

If you are going to stay in Amsterdam center and only looking to spend a small amount of money you shouldn't expect anything amazing but this out lived our expectations in all ways.

The only thing I can warn anyone about is the stairs but that is a dutch thing and any where else in the area I have stayed has steep stairs too.

Rote them obviously expected 5 star luxury fOr the cheap price they paid! Haha. No but seriously great little hotel central for everything u want to do! The rooms ain't massive but decent size. Only let down and our faults cos should av checked, we like having baths and they only had showers. Stairs feel very steep the first time u go up then u get used to it! Lovely lady works on reception, which also is a bar (downstairs)! You can smoke outside but not in room which isnt really a problem! WOuld definitely recommend And stay again :)

This is my third time staying at the Frisco Inn in three years and have had a great time every year. You are a ten minute walk from the train station, 5 minute walk to china town, 5 minutes to red light district and just 2 blocks from the tram, It is a small hotel, 12 rooms I think. Its location is awesome if you have come here for fun. My room was nice and clean, with a view of the street ( can be a bit noisy during the day from church bells) the room was modern with TV, hair dryer and a very comfortable bed. There is no lift and the stairs are very very steep, but thats Amsterdam, The bar is located on the ground floor which also serves as the check-in. After staying here a few times, all the staff speak english and also seem to be well traveled and are very friendly at making conversation and help you get situated in the city. I also noticed that the hotel is now renting out a few bikes and a scooter also. A great place to stay in a great location.
Note, they also have free Wifi

Reserved a twin room, on arrival, after paying they told us they did not have a twin and we would have to take a double, which was not what i reserved. the room was small with no TV (even though it is advertised as TV in room), however the cables were dangling off the walls in a very dangerous way. asked if we would like breakfast in the morning said yes (2 slices of toast, cheese and ham and some yoghurt and musil mix) then they charged us 15 euro for the pleasure! when i emailed after to complain i was told there was nothing they could do for me and didn't care what review I put up, so here I am. Avoid this place like the plague, you do not get what you reserve and you certainly do not get what you pay for. Their lack of customer care is terrible, it seems they are only interested in your money and not customer satisfaction.
