Hotels nice and clean, staff were nice and helpful. Breakfast was nice apart from it's abut too early (6.30-9.00)
it is quite far from Amsterdam city centre but once you've got the bus times sorted your fine. It's the number 91 for anyone who wants to know. The rooms are ok. It's cheap, u get what you pay for.
Overall it's a good place

We booked this hotel as we couldn't find any cheapish hotels nearer the centre. Fortunately we had a car, otherwise we'd have had to rely on buses to get to the city. The downside of course was that my boyfriend couldn't drink and it does take a good 15-20 minutes to get to the city centre.

The hotel itself was ok but I wasn't very impressed with our room. It was clean, but crawling with ants. I watched them scuttle into my bags and clothes which wasn't very pleasant!

The lighting in the room is poor. There were no lights at all in one half of the room so we were searching around in our suitcases in the dark.

All in all I'd say this hotel is ok but not at all convenient for Amsterdam city centre.

I came back from this hotel last night, after staying in this hotel with a female friend for three nights. The hotel was clean and in good condition. I had only two problems. When booking with expedia i requested a smoking room, only to find that I had a non-smoking room, when i complained i was told that they are unable to save ooms for guests. The hotel was also far. Although by bus it was only a 25 minute journey for 2.5 euros. However there are only two buses a hour and the last bus stops at 12.00pm. Taxi is very expensive. It was also scary for two women to travel on bus in amsterdam that late, espicially as in zaadam there is alot of bushs and greenery and water and hardly any street lights. It was dead out there, near an industrial business site and cremtorium. it also seems like no one leaves theres house after 6 as there were no one on the streets and no sweet shops. If you have the money stay near the heart of dam, if you dont still stay here as it is accessible to bus and train, youll just have to come home early or spend a fortune on cab. good luck, you will love dam, i did, can not wait to go back.

This is a nice hotel. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was basic but clean and nicely decorated. We just had one problem....ants!!
They were on the desk and bed locker but not in the bed. I made sure of that each night!
The ants did not bother me too much. If they were in the bed then I would have caused a fuss. Others may be less tolerant.
