We arrived in Amsterdam jet-lagged in the morning. We went to the hotel hoping to at least be able to drop off our bags. We were delighted when they offered to us check in early at 9:30 and then offered us breakfast too. We were refreshed after a little food and a short nap.
The room was small (to be expected in Amsterdam) and spartan. But the bed was comfortable and the room was quiet. No other room amenities. But we don't travel to watch tv and we have our own cellphones, so why pay for those things? Breakfast was simple, but filling. In the dining room you will find a collection of guide books.
We loved, loved the location in the Jordaan neighborhood! As soon leaving the hotel, it was easy to find a nice restaurant or pub or interesting shop that locals visited as well as tourists. It was a treat to walk the nearby streets and see how people live in this cool city. It's around a 20 min walk to train station.
There were some random photos of Anthony Perkins decorating the walls. Wish I could have figured out the connection.
