“A great place to stay for the real Amsterdam experience”

I've stayed at 't hotel (pronounced ut 'otel) just about once a year for the last six years while on business and pleasure trips to Amsterdam. It's pretty easy to fly through AMS on Delta and find a way to spend a few days, plus there have been several conferences in Amsterdam the past few years that I have attended. The hotel is incredibly convenient and quite authentic. If you mind climbing stairs, don't look at this place. The staff will happily carry your luggage up and down, so that is not a consideration. Very clean and a wonderful family-run hotel. Tasty and plentiful breakfast. Close to the Jordaan where there are an unbelievable number of fantastic restaurants for every taste, as well as small bars and pubs. Not a bad walk from the Central Station, but close to a tram line. Take the money you save by staying here and have a wonderful meal in the Jordaan. Or two. You won't regret it! There is a pub just a few steps from the front door which is an authentic Brown Cafe, as well as a great restaurant and a hand-made pizza take-out where the locals line up. A block away is the Westerkerk and the Belgian fry stall, along with an Albert Heijn grocery. You can spend your whole vacation within walking distance of this hotel!

Room Tip: Have stayed in several of their rooms over the years, and each is quite nice. Looking out on the ca...

“Perfect location.”

I loved the location of the t'Hotel. The perfect distance away from the chaos, yet close enough to be in it when you wanted. It's a quaint canal house that gives you the feel of what living on a canal in Amsterdam is all about. Not too many rooms, good breakfast, I would go back and stay there again.

Room Tip: I was barely in my room as there is so much to see in Amsterdam.

“Best Stay Ever !”

My wife and I spent six nights in room #4 in late November. This was our third stay in five trips to Amsterdam . We stayed in NH hotels on the other two trips....only because the 't Hotel was booked. We have only stayed in canal view rooms .. lots of room ....very very quiet and comfortable...great breakfast and a staff that really cares.

Room Tip: Any canal view room ...room #1 or #4 if stairs bother you.

“Beware of the stairs, loved the room.”

The L'hotel is a nice small hotel that I found too be clean and the service friendly. Our room was on the top floor and was quite spacious with a lovely view of the canal. The only down side was the exceptionally narrow stairs, which are not unusual in Amsterdam. Not only were they narrow, there was probably 70 to 80 steps to reach the room. Wasn't aware when I booked and it's a good thing we both could handle the trek up. Can guarantee that many would have big problem traversing those stairs. So make sure you stay on lower floor unless you're ready for a workout. After you take the stairs into account, you'll really like the hotel.

“Location is superb!”

Loved staying in a canal house. Family run and very nice people. Located so close to all the attractions but just of the main area to be enjoyable. Great shopping and restaurants in the area. Yes there are stairs but they are so super to help you up and down with your luggage. The breakfast was plentiful and had great hours. Room was large and we enjoyed staying here very much. Very clean bathroom and room. Only downfall was the walls could of had a good washing but owners are trying so hard that I am sure when they read this review the walls will be washed. Do not hesitate to stay at this small family run hotel. So easy to find from the central station and located close to Anne Frank House.
