My hubby and I stayed here with our 3 sons and an adult family friend for 2 nights in January 2012. We had a room with 6 bunk beds in it and we each had a large locker, which could be locked if you bring your own padlock, or you can probably buy a padlock at the Stayokay. They also had safes in the public area that can be rented.
Our room was quite spacious and we had our own shower, toilet and handbasin which were all separate from each other, which is a very practical design. We also had a window with a lovely garden outlook, and a table with 2 chairs. We only found 2 power points, one next to the handbasin and 1 near the table. It would probably be handy to have a few more, when everyone has something they need charged! The only other minor issue was that the shower sprayed a lot so that the floor adjacent to the shower got quite wet.
Our room was very clean and we were given clean linen to make our beds. We brought our own towels. We were not disturbed by any noise during our stay. In the morning we had the buffet breakfast that was included in the price. The breakfast consisted of cold sliced meat and cheese, bread which you could toast, spreads, hard boiled eggs, 2 cereals, yoghurt, fruit, juice and coffee. It was not a buffet like you would expect at a big hotel, but it was generous, fresh and healthy. It was great to be able to use the free wifi in the public areas, especially during the breakfast to plan your day.
From this location you can easily walk to trams and the canal boats, and the museum district and Leidseplien where there are a lot of restaurants. Overall, great!
