“Wonderful B&B!”

My husband and I stayed at this B&B for about 4 nights in 2007. It was such a wonderful experience. The location is great. The hosts were wonderful. We really loved our room. It was very cute and decorate nicely. The price was also very reasonable. If you go to Amsterdam, a B&B is definitely a great way to go. That said, I would not recommend this hotel to folks traveling with a lot of stuff (kids and strollers, etc). The rooms are upstairs and you have to climb up some pretty narrow stairs to get up into the house. But for couples and single folks, this is a great place!

“A great base for sightseeing”

Stayed for four days over possibly the coldest weekend of the year! The snow arrived just after we did and left just before we did. The B&B was a fantastic base to go sight seeing and come back to for a lovely hot chocolate or cuppa to warm up again. The farmers' market (on a Sunday) and flea market (on a Monday) are just over the canal. Anne Frank's house is a short walk, as is the central station. There is a good choice of nearby restaurants. The breakfasts really set you up for the day (especially the dutch pancakes!). The room was very comfortable, quiet and clean. Our hosts looked after us very well and it was especially handy to come back to the communal kitchen area to collect our bags as we had a late evening flight. We were invited to use the kitchen and bathroom and help ourselves should we need anything from the fridge before we left (even though we had already checked out that morning). It's the little extras like this that mean we will definately stay at Maes B&B again next time we are in Amsterdam.

“A perfect return visit to Maes B&B”

My wife and I have just returned from our second long weekend staying at Ken & Vlad's lovely B&B. This visit we stayed in the charming Yellow Suite and really loved the comfortable sitting room overlooking Herenstraat, the fabulous bathroom (a bath you can almost swim in!) and quiet luxurious bedroom. Milo and Louie looked after us brilliantly from the moment we arrived until we left and nothing was too much trouble for them. The breakfasts are wonderful and very convivial sitting round the dining table chatting to fellow guests.

Amsterdam is a beautiful city and we now wouldn't think of staying anywhere else when we next visit....which we're already planning.

Maes B&B is a charming and romantic place stay. We love it and can't recommend it highly enough.

“A wonderful place in a great location!”

My husband and I went to Amsterdam the first week of January and stayed in the Maes B&B. We couldn't have been more delighted with it! Ken was so friendly and helpful; we arrived early in the morning and he had the apartment ready for us. It was so easy making the reservation over email, as well. The apartment was just amazing! Beautiful, clean, with a fantastic view of the Singel canal and ideally located for everything that we wanted to do. And the breakfast was something else; we realized that we never ate lunch while we were there, since we'd had so much great food at breakfast that we could walk around the city all day and not get tired! If we return to Amsterdam, we will absolutely stay at Maes!

“Everything you could want as a base”

We were here for New Years and we were so impressed from beginning to end.
We arrived early from the Ferry and were given breakfast that day at no extra charge. The owners and managers are really friendly and able to advise on directions and good places to eat. It is close enough to be a short walk from the buzzing town but far enough away to be quiet at night. The room and bathroom were immaculate with a powerful shower. There is a lounge where you can sit and admire the canal view and are welcome to bring friends back for a cup of tea. Thank you Vlad we hope to visit again soon.
