This should be a good camp site, set in a leafy park very near to Amsterdam centre, but the sheer greed of the owner has spoiled it.
You cannot assess the site before you sign in and for an expensive fee we were left to try to cram in somewhere on a ridiculously overcrowded site. There was no room to set up anything outside the tent and the noise levels are very high, as you will be sleeping very, very close to a number of other people - some of whom will want to stay up quite late! Some of the camper vans actually had to set up in the car parking area as there was no room for them.
As has been reviewed before, the owner(?) chap will give absolutely no refunds - and is obviously quite practiced about it, as we watched him rudely dismiss the compaints from a young couple who had had no sleep and wanted to move elsewhere ("why is this my problem?, you signed the agreement, no refunds!"). We were incredulous as another guest was then brusquely told, straight after he had paid, that he would have to leave his car outside on the main road (and lug his gear in over 100m) as there was no room inside!!
Now the good points. The services were clean and well maintained - although no toilet seats and loo roll, and the main services are locked from 22.30 to 06.00 leaving only a few loos. The shop/cafe is useful and open for long hours. Very close to Amsterdam centre with good links by bus or ferry/walking. Amsterdam is fantastic!
Unless you are a youngish group looking for a budget break in Amsterdam, I would avoid - or at least only stay 1 night to begin with so you can then clear off if you don't like it!
