My wife and I spent an enjoyable 5 nights here. Location is excellent, great restaurants, shopping and museums all within easy walking distance. Great breakfasts and very friendly and helpful staff. Hotel is full of character. We stayed in the John Wayne room on the top (4th floor) which was really spacious with great views - you can see the Rijkmuseum from it. We would certainly stay here again.

Stayed here end of June with 2 Grand-Teens 13-14, and we all LOVED it. The location is perfect. Walk to everything. Sits right on the canal, circa 1670's, is spotless and so charming. It is just what you think of. Teens loved the stairs. Our (2) 3rd floor rooms overlooked the beautiful gardens with high windows that we opened at night. It is a residential neighborhood, yet steps from restaurants, pastry and cheese shops. You get the sense of living in Amsterdam.

The breakfast is served all at one big table allowing us to enjoy the company of the other guests and share our experiences. The breakfasts are amazing!!! Cooked to order omelettes, cheeses, homemade divine pastries and so so much more.

Hope you get to stay here. It was a highlight of our trip to Europe for our teens.

Especially good location for the museum area and central Amsterdam as well as just around the corner from many nice antique shops. B&B has been in the family for generations so you do get an older homey feel. Our room was bright and spacious but be careful of the shower. Hot water for sure as the 2 inch burn mark on my arm will attest. Shower pipes are extremely hot!! And as mentioned in other reviews if you have any issue with stairs this is not your place. Hanneke very friendly but cost conscious. Payment is in cash.

Mary and Hanneke couldn't have been any more gracious hosts. They have opened up their lovely canal house to travelers for many years, and they make you feel just like part of the family. The breakfast every morning is wonderful, and talking to Mary and Hanneke, as well as the other guests as we all start our day, is a treat.

The rooms and shared toilet are adequate and nothing fancy, and the spiraling stairs are steep and narrow. But that's part of its uniqueness and charm, as this is far from being a cookie-cutter hotel chain.

If you are looking for a great location and a nice place to call home while spending time in Amsterdam, look no further. I hope to return to Hotel Keizershof soon.
