“Cheap and nice”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 October 2011

Organised a little catch up with European mates, a bit last minute and found 4 beds in a 6-bed dorm for £35/pppn. Welcoming staff, clean throughout. Toilet and showers are shared but clean. It wasn't too noisy. Breakfast was ok,nothing crazy: toast, cheese, salami, boiled egg, jams etc... coffee and tea. Check out the red light window on the side window ... in essence it's not for families with kids. They have Wifi and free password protected lockers in the room so it's reasonably safe.

So long as you don't mind living it the hostel way, it's a great place to stay.

“Good location Hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 September 2011

The price is not cheap at all. The main reason for choosing this hotel is its location, only 10 min walk from train station and the hotel has an elevator because we carry heavy luggages. It is really not easy to find a hotel in Amsterdam with this price and have an elevator. Surrounding area of the hotel is safe though near red light district. Breakfast is ok but not good. Our room is a quadroom with two bunk beds, very small, dark and bed is not comfortable. Room is quiet. Toilet is outside our room but exclusively for your use.

“Definitely a nice cool place and staff!”

I stayed at Tourist Inn for 5 days at the end of August, and I must say that yes, it was crowded, but the place was a really cool cozy place to be. I paid €30 a night, slept with 5 other strangers but nice people, and I found the place to be all around a clean, safe, and comfortable place to be. The breakfast food was abundant, the staff was always helpful, the towels and sheets were spark clean readily available if I needed a new one, the bathrooms and showers were clean, and when a guest needs to check out and ask to store the luggage there for a few hours, no problem whatsoever, and at no extra charge. I strongly recommend it!!! ah, and the wi-fi connection always worked!

“Not good but very cheap!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 June 2011

It's a bit hard to judge here because the hotel is really well located (although in the middle of the red light district, and it might put lots of ppl off straight away). You can walk pretty much everywhere and it's less than 10 minutes walking from the train station. We were five and never felt unsafe.

On the down side... beds are not good at all, shared showers/toilets are always busy and never really clean.

It's very cheap and if you are young and looking for some fun and a cheap place to stay, go for it, otherwise you should most likely try somewhere else. I don't think I'd stay there again, unless I was 18 again!
