I accompanied my husband on a business trip to amsterdam last fall, and we stayed at the swissotel amsterdam. The location is great. It is so easy to walk everywhere from the hotel, and the shopping streets are right next door also.

The service was great and everyone at the front desk was really nice and accomodating. We asked for our room to be ready early ( 7am) as we were arriving on an early flight and the room was ready upon our arrival.

We did not eat at the hotel so I can't review the food/breakfeast. We did find an amazing restaurant closeby, "incanto" and we went there every single night of our stay.

The room we had was very spacious and comfortable.

I would definitely recommand this hotel.

Hotel was just perfect! we have been staying there for the three nights and we did not want to leave at the end. Initially, we had booking in other hotel, but we did not like it and come to Swiss next day of our arrival. Manager was so kind to provide us with Supeior room for the price of standard one. So enjoyed big room! Hotel staff was very friendly all the time, any kind request was immediately satisfied. Hotel does not serve breakfasts, but it is not a minus. As far as it has a perfect location in the center of Amsterdam (right on Dam square) you get a plenty of places where English breakfast is served under around EUR 8. Wi-Fi is not free of charge, but it is also not a problem: hotel has amazing business center with Mac PCs, which was empty all the time (and free of charge). Moreover during your work in business center we could enjoy free fresh orange juice, lemon water, fruits and snacks. Printing there is also free of charge. Around the hotel there are many fast-food stores, where wi-fi is free, so you can easily catch their wi-fi net.
Amazing fragrances in the bathroom! they put there som spa aroma sticks! cool! every day complimentary water was on our bed table served with some sweets ) That was very pleasant! Coffee machine is in the room as well, which was quite convenient.

Just back from a weekend in Amsterdam where we stayed in the Swissotel. It is in a great location being in Dam Square. 5 different trams stop outside the door, the no.'s 4,9,16,24 & 25 and nearby the 14 & 2 so you can get anywhere by tram if you don't feel like walking. The staff were extremely courteous and helpful in fact some of the best staff I have ever come across. The rooms were comfy and had everything including a nespresso machine for complimentary coffee. The mini bar was well stocked but pricey, there was also a vending machine located on our floor which also charged mini bar prices. I would stay in this hotel again and would also stay in this brand in other locations based on this hotel.

I stayed at the hotel in the beginning of Jan. 2012. By my mistake, I had a problem during my trip (I don't go to the detail of my problem), however everyone of the hotel helped me a lot, they always took care of me, thought what they can do for me, tried to make my stay better.

Attention of the hotel staffs toward the guests are outstanding, the quality of service of the hotel is extremely high, as mentioned by other reviews.

I hope many travelers to stay at the hotel and experience pleasant, comfortable stay in Amsterdam.
