It was my first trip to Netherlands, so maybe some things are normal there, but my first impression wasn't too good. My single room was very small, cosy, the room was cleaned every day, but in the bathroom... it was too damp there 'cause of poor work of air-ventilation system I think and it wasn't cleaned at all for all 3 days I stayed there. So on the second day my floor towel was soaked and got yellow and water was everywhere, and I was scared to use hairdryer to stay alive. And water was dropping from the tap when I turned on the heating) So I'd call my staying there "watering season". I didn't feel like in a 3-stars hotel there.

good location approx 5-10mins walk to central station. stayed four times in hotel, most recent december 2011. hotel is basic but is clean and comfortable.

Our second stay at the hotel, had a fantastic room, the staff were wonderful, again, very helpful and polite and had no problems taking care of our bags before we could check in and after we checked out, so we didn't have to carry our bag round. The cleaning staff make the rooms up perfectly, the location is perfect, close enough to everything to be in the action but in an area that feels private and calm.


Good value for money considering all their positive points, would struggle to find a negative.

We will always goto this hotel when we goto Amsterdam.

We really liked the Singel Hotel, all the staff were hospitable & friendly. The hotel was very modern even though it's @an old building, The breakfast room was a really pleasant place to have the lovely brekkie that is provided. My friend took full advantage & had as much as he wanted. So, I cannot really understand the previous views on the @breakfast, as it was really again, accomodated. We were very lucky to be put in the triple room & the free wi-fi was an excellent addition. We would defo stay @Singel Hotel again, because the staff are very pleasant & helpful.
