We visited Freddy's after spending a day in Amsterdam. It is a relaxed environment and a perfect place when you need to take a break from the adventures of Amsterdam. The view over the canal and Munttoren is simply stunning.
The cocktails are delicious! If you aren't sure about what to choose the staff can give you tips and you just might find a new favourite. The staff is social and friendly, providing excellent service. We had a lot of fun joking with the staff and will definitely come back!

I recently stayed at the Hotel De L'Europe (January 15, 2012) and was totally wowed by my experience. It was my first time there and I was thrilled. The renovations are complete and it is gorgeous inside. The public spaces are beautiful (didn't have a chance to eat there since the restaurant is closed on Sundays and Mondays) but the bar is great as is the area where you can have tea. I was upgraded to a Junior Suite, a blue room overlooking the canal. It was a "clean room," which means everything was pristine and there was an air filter going 24/7. The bathroom had both a tub and a shower and a heated floor. The staff was very and welcoming (despite the fact that I showed up with just a backpack for luggage) and went out of their way to make me feel at home. Highly recommended. I have stayed at a lot of different hotels in Amsterdam - this is the best.

We went here recently and definitely want to return, it has a real cool retro feel to it. The prices are high for cocktails, but good quality. The only gripe I have is they weren't very happy when one of us ordered a cup of tea...but other than that I look forward to going back.

The remodeled hotel has worked to anticipate every comfort of hotel guests. The room, the lighting, the bedding, the room amenities -- and the view -- were all exceptional. The staff was friendly and helpful, as we found most everyone in Amsterdam to be.
