This little hotel with friendly staff is an adventure in itself.
It seems to be built like a maze, and there are so many turns and corners that I got lost a few times.
It is not very new, and there is a bit wear and tear in the whole building, so if these things bother you, choose a different place. Breakfast was fair enough. Nothing fancy, but at least it was clean in the breakfast room and staff was attentative.
So, if you are ok with the fact that beds, furniture and general interior is old, this hotel is ok for the location.
Probably will be looking for a different hotel for my next stay though.

Then the negative: Shabby, old and in need for a serious upgrade / re-decoration.
As the pictures show there is dirty and many thing are half broken.
On our beds there were several black hair! The curtains were yellow, and our door couldnt lock, so we had to ask for assistance three times. The walls are thin, and on some levels you are allowed to smoke! This we were not told upon our booking. Although the hotel is pretty close, I would never recommend it!!!!!!! Choose insted the nh Hotels or the Marriott.

The best thing about this hotel is it's location, rooms of low basic standard. Wouldn't recommend it, there are better hotels in the area giving better value for money. Breakfast was also poor, tea and coffee was always served warm at best. The choice was limited. If you don't like ham and cheese then your only choice is a cereal. The garden was nice though.

Stayed here for the Amsterdam half marathon. I guess it was clean, although hot water was intermittent - not what you need after 13 miles! We needed a triple room, which is why we went for this hotel. The triple does have 3 separate beds, which worked well for us. There was a definite hostel feel, but with hotel prices.

Positives - it is close to the tram stop, only 15 minutes from Central Station. Also close to Vondelpark, which is lovely. I wouldn't stay here again though.
