“Great location to explore Amsterdam”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

Stayed at the Radisson for a nice weekend. The hotel is in a great location in the centre of Amsterdam and is within easy walking distance of the main attractions and central station if you want to use the train to the airport. The rooms are well furnished and have all of the usual facilities needed. Considering the hotel is in central Amsterdam we were not disturbed by any noise over the weekend. The Pastorie bar within the hotel is a great place for a night cap and the barman is great - he managed to remember our names and room number! The Palmboom restaurant is very good, had a fantastic steak - the menu is quite limited but good quality and I think reasonably priced compared to other city centre restaurants. All staff were very helpful and pleasant. We would definitely stay here again

“Third time, same hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012

We use to be in this hotel each time we need to be in Amsterdam (such as for tourism, or waiting for a Schijpol Airport connection to Netherland Antilles, etc.). The location near Red district, well deep in the very heart of Amsterdam is unique. Radisson made a refurbish work really remarcable, adding new wings to the 1600 buildings on Rusland, and adding a lot of confort to the upper floor rooms. Penthouse crystal roof suites are so beautiful. Go for confort and excellent breakfast, professional staff and really good privacy. An international city hotel, but classy.

Room Tip: "I suggest the penthouse suites, they are soo confy"

“Top of the pops in Amsterdam”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2012

Stayed here for business January 2012.

The hotel is in the middle of Amsterdam, yet up a quiet street (Rusland), so there's no noise, even at night. A canal is straight down the road from the Hotel, only 1 minuttes walking.

Hotel includes a bar, and some rooms which overlook the reception and bar area. Cool.

5-10 minutes walk to the Red Light District (which, by the way, is no way what it used to be).

Rooms have all the business class trimmings you'd expect, and plenty of space for everything.

Breakfast great, but be sure it's included at your booking, otherwise it's very expensive to pay for upfront.

Staff were very efficient and sometimes over-eager.

Overall, this is a very nice, romantic, well designed first-class hotel in a good location. Trams and metro are nearby.

Downside is that rates are high, even for Europeans, but you get what you pay for.

Room Tip: All rooms are good. The rooms overlooking the reception gives you a funky feeling.

“Best choice”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 January 2012

I have been in Amsterdam several times. Still this hotel the is best choice to explore Amsterdam. Location near center but quiet surrounding. Red lights are close but still away. Service and hotel are both excellent. Room is spacious, enough everything in room: iron and desk for ironing, coffee, tea and hot chocolate, free wi-fi. Bathroom is big enough. Shampoo, conditioner etc. are with very good quality.

“Comfortable hotel in quiet area”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

people found this review helpful

Great hotel: Nice and spacious rooms, good breakfast, swift and service minded staff, great location but still quietly situated in the city center. We paid 50 Euros extra for a junior suite upgrade.

Only downside – if any – was that our room did not have an outside view, but overlooked the bright and airy reception area.

In addition you might want to ask for softer pillows, as the ones in the beds where very hard and high.

Room Tip: Rooms towards the recetion area - ask for an "outside" view if you are not ok with that.
