Agree with all comments left by Trip Advisors (thanks). Simply first class hotel with impeccable service standards. The free glasses of champagne for our wedding anniversary were extremely welcome.

I stayed as a single traveller for one night. I arrived early and they happily accommodated me in a lovely room right away, and they also offered me free breakfast that was not included in my package! Their breakfast was amazing and fresh. Not just good for a free hotel breakfast, a breakfast I would have happily paid for.
Hotel is a smaller property, but not small by any means.
1. Superb Service, friendly and helpful. I even emailed them before arrival how to get there from airport and they emailed a detailed explanation of how to get there by taxi, car, train/tram. I was able to arrive easily via train/tram.
2. Everything in included... Every been to a hotel that charges you for every little move. This is NOT one of those: I have never been to a hotel that gives everything happily for free. Free Minibar (yes REALLY free minibar), free bottles of liquor in the room, free beer and bottles of wine/liquor in lobby, free coffee (actually good coffee - not cheap crap), free breakfast, free wifi (even in your room).
3. Location: close to everything worth seeing in Amsterdam. And close to Tram that allows you to go anywhere else.
4. Luxury: Everything is nicely setup, very high-end property. Never felt cheap for a moment. Every little fixture felt luxurious. They even had a pillow menu... you could select which type of pillow you wanted and they would send it up to your room!
I can't say enough about how nice this hotel is. and I must also compliment the TripAdvisor community for recommending it to me.
ONE IMPORTANT NOTE: wouldn't recommend for kids. Is definitely a mature hotel. Im not even sure if kids are allowed (what with the free liquor and all).

We had been recommended this by friends so knew it was a good hotel. We've stayed at a number of hotels in Amsterdam and for location and service this was the best so far.
The welcome was very warm including a glass of champagne. All the staff we met were so helpful, particularly with restaurant bookings.
As our room didn't have a bath we asked to upgrade - 16 euros a night for canal view room. This proved worthwhile as we were allocated an executive room with a great view.
The rooms aren't huge but don't need to be, you have everything you need and the heating is very effective so makes the rooms very snug and cosy when it is -10 degrees outside.
The lounge area is a great place to relax, don't think we've ever spent much time in the lounge area of any hotel but here it has everything. Snacks throughout the day, tea, coffee, soft drinks and spirits available all day and wines come out around 4pm.
It is also very sociable - if you want it to be. And the 2 computers are really useful if you need to print anything.
This did cost slightly more than one of our favourite 5 star hotels in Amsterdam but as it is all inclusive it is well worth the extra. As it is so central it is lovely to be able to keep popping back to the hotel to relax in between shopping trips, museums etc.

I'm not one for writing reviews but Banks Mansion deserves a word or two. We stayed in the hotel for one night but wished we could have stayed longer. The staff were amazing and couldn't do enough for us. They took care of everything from showing us around the hotel to organising trasport for our trip. We were made to feel comfortable as soon as we arrived.
Everything was included in the price; drinks (a wide selection of alcoholic and non alcoholic bevarages) and snacks in the lobby, the mini-bar in the room which included more snacks and three decanters. The lobby area of the hotel was not like any I have ever come across. The "help yourself to anything you like" concept really made you feel part of the hotel and created a great and unique atmosphere among the guests and staff alike.
The rooms were excellent, no noise could be heard from either of the rooms we had at the front or the back. The decor was to an extremely high standard with a sort of art-deco theme. Smart and luxurious offering free movies and even a "pillow menu"!.
Breakfast was served downstairs (this was also included in the price) where there was a wide selection of cold foods from cereals to meats, not to mention a breakfast-chef on hand to russtle up anything from plain eggs to pancakes!!

This really is a great hotel and i can't reccomend it highly enough. Needless to say we will be returning in the near future!! Perfect.
