it's a good hotel any way, rooms are capacious, staff is really friendly, breakfast is ok, my room had a nice view of the garden beside the hotel but the negative point is that it is really far away from the city center that you can spend at least 30 minutes in the tram to go to the city center attractions

I have stayed in this hotel 4 times and have always enjoyed the efficient check-in and check-out processes and the efficiency. The breakfast which costs a few Euros extra is worth the price. Rooms are clean, have wi-fi access (on payment) and good bathrooms. Overall a pleasant experience every time. I will stay here again.

The one drawback is the time it takes to get there from the airport, unless one is taking a taxi one has to take the train from Schiphol to Amsterdam Central and then a tram to get to the hotel.

The hotel looks recently refurbished and the staff is kind, but is a bit distant from the city centre. You do have a tram (9) that stops in front of the hotel and takes you quickly to the inner circle. The hotel provides a very good breakfast (18 euros). The biggest letdown however was the WiFi being charged and with abusive prices (5 euro for half and hour), and the free wifi provided at the lobby is ridiculously capped.

In times where any 10 euro hostel, mc donalds of starbucks provides free wifi it is a shame for an hotel to charge you for it.

We stayed at the NH Tropen in a standard double room.
As well the outside as the inside looks old and in need of some updating.
The Front Desk staff are very friendly. Check-in and check-out went very smoothly.
We had a corner room and as we had an extra person in our group, a rollaway bed was set up. The beds were very comfy.
We did not have breakfast in the hotel as the price was pretty high. There are several places within walking distance of the hotel for breakfast, dinner, etc.
The room looked clean; however 2 in our group are allergic to dust mite, mold, etc. Both had allergic reactions while in the room. The shower stall had several spots of mold. Because of this, we will not return to the NH Tropen Hotel.
