“Close to airport”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 January 2012

I live about 70 kilometers from the airport and had a very early flight to catch. That's why I decided to book a room the night before. To the airport it is a 10 minute drive (if no trafficjam). It is a businesshotel in the close to the highway. Boring surroundings - but efficient. The rooms are ok, clean but nothing special.
Only go there for businesstrips or if you have to catch a flight.

“Liked my stay here”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 January 2012

Stayed here during IBC 2011. The hotel was good was just 15 minutes driving distance from RAI and the shuttle service provided was very helpful. The hotel offer's pickup and drop from the Airport every 30 mins.

The rooms were clean and with a double bed, TV, table and chair. I wouldn't call the room spacious, but will be enough for a business traveler or an overnight air travel layover.

The food was good. The breakfast buffet, which was included in my stay, was elaborate. The lunch and dinner from the à la carte menu were good as well. The bar too was well stocked.

The only negative would be that if you are travelling for pleasure or as a tourist, then coming back late in the night and reaching the central locations from the hotel would require cab.

“great for overnight stopover”

On previous trips to France, we had to get up at 3AM to get connecting flight inMarseilles to Amsterdam to Portland, Oregon. The last trip, we flew out of Marseilles in the early evening, arrived in Amsterdam about 7pm. Checked into the Mercure a little after 8- had a very comfortable & well equipped room, got a great night's sleep and were ready for our flight back to USA the next morning. It is important to know your room is only for 12 or 13 hours (check in after 8PM, out by 9AM). The plus is that you are already in the airport, so checked bags can stay checked. Staff is efficient and helpful. Food and beverages are available in the airport. Rooms are soundproof & air conditioned. Not elegant, but certainly comfortable & practical. Rooms book up quickly & must be paid in advance. We are planning to stay there again on our next trip.

“Ripped off”

I booked this hotel through a website.
Unfortunately, due to some unwanted circumstances, I could not go there anymore.

I let the hotel know with 6 days in advance, so that they and myself could not incurr any costs, and could have the chance to sell the room straight away.

I got a message from the Hotel saying they would notifiy the reception (I assume so it was easy for them to resell the room to someone else)

At the end they resold my room to another guest and charged me 79 EUROS.

Disgusting.

Room Tip: There are better hotels in the area. Do not go for this one

“Standard Hotel with Free Shuttle & Wifi”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 November 2011

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights as a stop over before heading to London. The hotel staff is friendly and will allow you to check in early if needed. The rooms are equipped with two twin beds, TV ( with some international channels), Fridge, Mini Bar, Wifi & lots of heat which is needed in Amsterdam =o). The hotel is 15 mins from Schipol Airport. The free shuttle which is a huge plus departs from the airport to the hotel; from A9 a quarter to or a quarter past ( every 45 and 15) on the hour and departs the hotel every 30 mins. Although the hotel is not in the city a short train ride about 15 mins will take you there. From Schipol Airport to Central Station which is the center of Amsterdam a round trip ticket will cost you about 14 Euros. Here you will find tours, museums, canal rides, lots of scenery etc. If you want to utilize the free shuttle back from the airport be sure to get to arrive by 10:45 as this is the last shuttle. What I did not like was the fact that hotel held a deposit on my card I believe $50 although the room was prepaid. I understand leaving a card on file in case you use the mini bar, order room service or if you acquired damages but why should it be charged instantly? The money was refunded but that idea STINKS. Overall the hotel was ok not a 4 star but I enjoyed my stay. Safe travels
