Nice, clean rooms. Friendly staff. Decent location (nothing is ever really far in Amsterdam). Would stay there again.

I was very surprised when we saw the hotel form the exteriors as it did not potray whata 4* hotel would seem to be like.

On arrival, the receptionist was very courteous and helped us with check in and also showed us on map touristy places as well.

What I din't find comfortable in the rooms was that the air conditioning was not switched on although our rooms were pre-booked. The heat (it was summer) was intense and we had to open our windows for almost an hour to get the heat out.

Furthermore, the internet wifi was very very slow. When contacted the reception all they could offer was to use an old machine in their business center which was a fixed internet connection, and apparently faster.

Also the bathrooms don't have latches. So, if you are sharing rooms with business associates, you may want to reconsider.

Excellent breakfast, with good variety to offer. Courteous staff at restaurant. bar and reception. Good house keeping services as well.

All in all, would reccommend for single persons or couples or families. Would think again if you are on business, as the internet was really a problem for me !

A group I toured with stayed at the Memphis recently. I have to say we found the location to be great (right on the #16 tram line into the central district and all the main attractions) and with several nice little local type restaurants and shops within several blocks walk. I found the room to be clean and well serviced, the bed comfy, the wireless internet was free (for a change), and the front desk staff was very helpful and provided excellent service. The only thing I felt could be changed was the heat in the room. We were on the 4th floor, and since heat rises, the room was hard to cool down. We had the windows open overnight in Dec to keep it comfortable.

First stay in Amsterdam (Lovely place) and hotel in a very good spot with only 10 minutes to central town and all there is to see. However, room very, very small, not possible to open window as large busy road and staff did not change bed for our four day stay (first time for me!). Otherwise ok as clean room, reasonable breakfast and accommodating staff.
