“Amsterdam Experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

The Dikker & Thijs Fenice Hotel is located in a beautiful area, many great dinner choices and on the canel. The staff were very helpful with directions to local sites as well as the usual tourist hot spots. They also make taxi arrangements at a discounted price for the guests.
The tram stops directly in front of the hotel- making access to the Central Station & The Dam Square a simple 7.00 Euro ride for a full day all over the city.
The rooms have flat screen tvs, large bathtubs- blow driers ( which are unusual to find provided in the rooms) in room coffee and a beautiful view.
This is a desirable location, I will stay here again on future trips.

Room Tip: If you have heavy luggage, ask to stay near the elevator.

“Great staff, great location, can be a little noisy”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 January 2012

The staff at this hotel were really great-- efficient and very friendly. Our room was fantastic....huge. I was expecting some tiny little closet (as is often the case in older cities). Instead, they gave us the triple room which had an extra twin bed in addition to a small table/chair set-up. Very comfortable.

The location of the hotel was very central. On the convergence of three major tram lines and walkable to the museum district. It's in an area of a lot of tourist hotels and restaurants. This is good because it was easy to find morning coffee and conveniences such as the drug store. But also bad because it was on a noisy corner. But then, we were there over New Year's so the whole city was noisy.

If you are a super light sleeper, I'd say request a quiet room or choose a quieter neighborhood. But for us, this was an excellent choice.

“Nice hotel in great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 January 2012

Very good location with everything within walking distance. The staff were very professional and friendly. My room was spacious and I could feel comfortable. Bath products were nice, bathroom in my room was also acious though no tub even though one could have easily fit. Nice view to the channel. Breakfast was good but expensive.
No free WiFi-access available.

“Best location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 January 2012

We had a superior room, was very big comfortable and clean. Not too much noise, mostly from the penthouse above. Would go there again.

“Good spot”

Can't argue with the other reviews here. Location is good - just out of the city centre but within walking distance to everything; our room (at the top) was spacious, clean and cosy (although we had to endure two single beds put together rather than a 'proper' double, not unusual in Northern Europe, but I loathe this). It's got lots of character, and lots of stairs (not a problem for me, but might be for some); the main problem as others have noted is the street noise, which basically continues all night, so avoid if you want something quiet.
