The Schiller is a really wonderful hotel and lives up to it's 4 star rating.It's central location is ideal and it's right opposite the no9 tram stop so if you arrive by train is simple to get to.We arrived quite early morning and booked in with no problems through a very efficient staff member who,after a very easy check in, gave us plenty of hotel and local information.We had only booked a standard room and it was impressive with good decoration,ample furniture and a very good bathroom.The most notable thing was very comfortable beds which gave four nights of good sleep.Breakfast more than sufficient with both a good selection of cold and hots foods on a self serve basis and a good selection of teas,coffee's and fruit juice's.The food was good and especially the bacon which was cooked to a crisp not the usual fatty limp looking stuff.The bar is well stocked with a good selection of drinks but moreover the bar staff were two of the most friendly and informative people i have had the pleasure to be in company of.Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff they were always very polite and friendly.Check out too was very simple they even double checked our taxi requirements and ensured us the airport was operating normally as it had been snowing heavily the day before and the airport had closed for a time.Overall this hotel is first class and i would highly recommend it to anyone.

so first of all, i've been to amsterdam more than 10 times. that hotel located perfectly of 6 minutes walking the dam square, and withing 10 minutes walking of any attraction.

we stayed in a normal smokers room just two friends traveling,because we asked for 2 separate beds, and they made a mistake and booked a room with one bed, they upgraded us to the Suite.

We had an awsome time, awsome hotel, friendly staff,clean and big room!!!!

Atmosphere (paintings by the late owner) books in the room, the elevator and stained glass--- a nice restaurant in doors and next door a coffee house.... Yes this will fit all your needs and put a smile on your face. Class but personality the building is almost a personality. You will be happy you came here!!!

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 5 nights on and around New Year's Eve. We checked out the reviews first so asked for the quietest room possible and they were very accommodating. We weren't bothered by the noise at all in our top-floor room. Staff was great, especially when helping us find our way around town and tips on how to use public transportation. I do have to say though that we were a little surprised at how old the hotel was and maybe I'd even go as far as saying it was a little dingy? It was bearable but nothing really special. Breakfast was not worth the money so I'd suggest going elsewhere... there are plenty of breakfast places on the same street as the tulip markets. The location was good, a little touristy but we were in the middle of everything. Our experience was enjoyable but I'm not sure I'd recommend the actual hotel.
