Let me first qualify this by stating I have stayed at properties throughout Amsterdam and this is by far the worst value I have ever come across. The only thing going for it is the location which is near Centraal Station.
Some call this an "art" hotel but let me be blunt here. The walls are all marked up fiberboard so they likely took an open space and carved out little rooms (and when I say little this isn't overly dramatic). Inside the fiberglass cubicles you will find, according to them, a one-of-a-kind room made by an artist. I don't think the artist made it to my room as it is stark minimalist except for a table that came from a garage sale and is impossible to do anything on due to it wobbling. Then there are the walls that are all scoffed up from other travelers.....think about how easy it is to scoff up fiberboard. The bathroom is mis-configured. I am a short guy and have to sit completely side-ways on the toilet as the sink is right there....if you are in anyway taller than 5'7 or over 170 pounds you are likely going to have to use a public bathroom somewhere. The public spaces are just junky and undone. Each floor there is housekeeping sheets/towels stored out in the open.
I stayed here three days in May...the third night of my stay was 212.00US plus city tax. I cannot recall at anytime in my travels that I have felt so vastly ripped off as with this fiberglass make-shift hotel.....I feel as if they can pack up the hotel in a couple of yours, just like a carnival, and move it elsewhere....it is that cheap looking/feeling.
Stay away if you can....and if you are a smoker, forget it. You have to go downstairs (elevator is usually too slow to use) and then go outside...but then you have outdoor restaurants there so you have to walk a bit before you have space to light up.
Room Tip: Tip....don't stay here. if my room is any indication of the other rooms you are being taken for...
