“Adequate for a few nights in Amsterdam”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 December 2011

Stayed here for four nights in December, 2011 whilst in Amsterdam. Hotel is in a very convenient location, close to plenty of restaurants cafes and pubs, only a few minutes walk to Rembrantplein. I found that Amsterdam was extremely easy to get around, and as the hotel was on the Prinsengracht canal belt was easy to find if you ever get lost. The rooms was small by the standards set in North America, but that didn't bother us at all, as it was just basically used as a place to sleep and recharge the batteries. Staff members were pleasant enough with helping find places, suggestions, and quite courteous in general (They are also multilingual which helps). Room was made daily with new towel each day. Overall even though the ITC didn't have any frills, and it does contain a quite humerous (for a tourist to Europe) spiraling staircase that travels up numerous flights of stairs, it was adequate for our budget, and our four nights in our new favourite city in the world.

“It's okay.”

The hotel is located in the central part of Amsterdam (Zentrum) in the Prinsengracht canal. Anna Frank House is 20 minutes away by foot, and the Amsterdam Centraal (Main Train Station) about the same. The staff was friendly and the room was okay. It was clean and pretty comfortable. Some people complain about the stairs, but they didn't bother me -- they are steep for usual standards, but nothing to complain about. Basically, if you just need a crash for the night, go ahead and book this hotel. If you're looking for something luxurious, look elsewhere.

“Waste of money”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 November 2011 via mobile

Stayed here for 3 nights very bad hotel. The staff were very friendly the room was big. The bed squeeked pillows awful. toilet u could barely fit in. The worse part me and my partner got bitten by bugs all over absolute horrible flee pit room we never get bitten at home. 2nd night building work above us from 7am woke us up banging loud wen I went to reception at 9.30 to complain they did offer me a change of room bit late then. Hotel is not worth the money they charge. Be careful before booking I looked at reviews but i ignored them. We paid £85 pounds per nite if u ask me that's a complete rip off for this hotel.

“Not good in a nice neighbourhood”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 October 2011

Very small room, fit for a double bed but not for two people at the same time in the room. Most of the things in the room is in some way broken or chipped. If you sit on the toilet you can not close the door - your legs is in the way. The shower is suprisingly good. Nice neighbourhood.

“Adequate for a city break but look out!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 September 2011

I don't like writing bad reviews and I don't wont to make this one but there are certain things I want others to know about this hotel if they're thinking of booking it, not to put anybody off but just to know what to expect when they arrive.
Ok so I'll start with the good stuff!

Me and my partner arrived here about 12 in the afternoon and as check in wasn't until 2 thought we'd go say we're here, drop our luggage off and have a wander round however our room was ready when we got there so we popped straight up to dump our stuff.
I've read people complain about the stairs in Amsterdam hotels before but I think they're lovely and quaint.
The bed was quite comfy and warm too, I mean who doesn't like a comfy bed!
The location was brilliant, it was a 10 minute walk from Rembrandt square which is choc-a-block full of bars, shops, coffeeshops and the like, a very nice place to wind the day away in.

When we go in to our room I noticed our window was open so I tried to close it but it wouldn't no matter how much a pushed here and there and neither could my boyfriend so when we went back down we asked if it could be closed and the woman at reception said it would be later on that day (which it wasn't, nor was it throughout our 3 days there). The toilet door didn't shut properly, there was a good 2 inch gap so if you are in the room we were I hope that you're a very close couple of very good friends.
Our towels were changed every day which was good but our sheets weren't changed once.

Now for the worst part. I am very suseptable to insect bites, gnats that sort of thing when I go away...to warm tropic places. However every morning when I woke up I'd find another 2/3 bites on my body somewhere, really painful and itchy, very unsightly to say the least. My boyfriend also got some and he never gets bitten. I don't want to say the b word but I think there might have been bed bugs in our room, the weather there was almost identical to it is back in my home town in England and I haven't had any bites here. I think this is the thing that got to me most. I can put up with a dodgy toilet door, dodgy shower anything, just not bed bugs.

Apart from that I'd recommend the hotel as it was a very good price considering the location, I would have defiantly stayed here again if it was just going to be me and my partner in the room with no little visitiors but now I wouldn't.

Room Tip: Your rooms are going to be small but who cares when you'll be walking round gorgeous Amsterdam a...
