We stayed one night during a short visit to Amsterdam. The hotel location is excellent - just a few minute walk from the train station. The hotel has poor signage, and it was confusing to find the entrance. Our room was very large and nice, although cool. When we reported the problem, they quickly brought us a portable heater that solved the problem. The view from our room looking out over Amsterdam was great. Overall the room was clean and comfortable. The staff was freindly and helpful. The breadfast buffet was sensational.

We still here (Room 725) but I couldn't wait to get home to review it. Hotel RIGHT BESIDE CENTRAAL STATION - We arrived early - booked in not a problem, asked for a river view high floor room - again not a problem. Every member of staff we encounter are extremely pleasant, helpful and nice. Room is fabulous, just like the view, fallen asleep like a baby, bed extremely comfortable, room great size, having this IMac in our room is a godsend keeping me and my daughter connected to home while we away. Sky lounge bar is a must - view is spectacular especially at night. I could go on and on and on but I wont - just know if you are coming here you are in for a treat - having seen some "hotels" in Amsterdam we feel like A Listers here. And as for the welcome cookie I couldn't get to taste mine as my 13 year old daughter ate the both of them. SERMON OVER

Booked through an agent and at the time of booking this was the Mint Hotel, before arrival we were informed this had changed to Doubletree at Hilton - result for me as I had Hilton Honours card.
We stayed for 3 nights in January 2012. We arrived before midday as we had caught an early flight but it was not a problem checking us in and the warm cookie was very welcomed!
We had been given a city view as per my earlier request.
An hour or two after check in we got a courtesy call to check everything was ok with check in and the room, this was a nice touch.
The room was not big, not small but well appointed and neat and tidy. The beds were very comfortable, we spent a lot of time sleeping in them so I can vouch for that!
The bathroom had a shower only, fine for us and had White Company toiletries. We had no conditioner so I just asked the maid and she gave me one no problem, really helpful when you travel hand luggage only and are restricted on liquids.
Each room has an iMac which was very handy for Internet and plugging in my iPod. I used the free Wi-Fi no problems from my phone, this was very handy.
Breakfast consisted of continental and hot selection. Sometimes they were a little slow at filling up the bread etc and you had to ask them to do it but the choice was good and the food tasty.
We didn't drink in the bar or eat dinner so cant comment on the food although the menu was displayed and the food and drink looked a little pricey. The restaurant was always pretty empty so maybe reducing the prices may bring in more clientele.
Location was perfect, a couple of mins walk from the station and pretty close to everything else Amsterdam had to offer. We walked everywhere from the hotel - just look out for cyclists as they clearly have the right of way and dont they know it!
Would defintely stay at this hotel again so long as we get a decent package deal like we did.
