Stayed here first week of january, good basic budget hotel in great location. Solid, clean, no frills stay, wouldn't hesitate to go back on my next visit to Amsterdam. PS: definitely ask Will for restaurant Recommendations, she's great!

I found bed bugs in the room I was staying in.....moved to another room....no bug to be seen, but people in the elevator told me they had bugs in their room :O! I would rate this place as a stay away...so so service and an excuse that "this is Amsterdam and very common to have bed bugs" ...whatever, should change the name to Dirty Bird Hotel.

We got an inner room and it was stuffy and stank of stale smoke and had no window. If you want breakfast you are directed next door to an Irish bar which was great and at night even better. This Hotel is in a great location but is let down by the interior.

After having booked a hostel and realising it was outside of the city, my friends and I walked into several hotels and when coming across France Hotel and having a look at one of the rooms figured it would be ok to stay at. Nothing special about the rooms, the toilet was not in a great condition. It was fine for what it was as I was with friends and laughed this kind of thing off and we spent most of our time in the city. The one good thing about it is the location but overall, would not recommend it.
