“Absolutely fabulous!”

Absolutely fabulous stay. The personalised attention given by Paula to each of her guests in this very small, luxury bed and breakfast, is wonderful. Having stayed in the garden suite, with its own living room, we both felt that we had a home on a canal for the weekend. Extending our stay by another day was smoothly arranged. And finding freshly cut fruits and yoghurt in the minibar for our 5am departure, was a pleasant example of the extra mile Tulipa's owners will go to make sure your stay is just perfect.

“Birthday Trip from Miami to Amsterdam”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 November 2011

We stayed 4-nights on a Birthday trip from Miami to Amsterdam and absolutely loved the room. The Owner, Paula and her husband are very friendly, caring people, they really go out of their way to keep the place running smoothly and ensure you have a great stay, they live close by and are readily available if you need anything. The room was amazing, great bed, huge bathroom, spotless, very quiet, comfortable, and clean. The place is small with only 3 rooms (we stayed in the 2-level suite) which allows personalized service and keeps the place quiet so you can sleep soundly. The breakfast each morning is great, fresh fruit, juice, crepes, eggs, tea, toast, etc......very filling, so we skipped lunch most days. Internet and printer access for free in the great room. Free wifi in the rooms.
Location cannot be beat, 1 easy bus ride from the airport, and less than 1 block from the tram and bus stops. Beautiful view of the canal systems, and easily walkable to all the sites in Amsterdam (we never needed the tram). 5-minute walk to shopping, 15-minute walk to the dam, 20-minute walk to the Red Light district.......great restaurants and shopping everywhere around. We plan to go back in 2012.

Room Tip: The 2-level suite room has a small spiral staircase leading down to the bedroom which could be tight...

“Just loved it!”

My husband and I stayed at the B&B at the end of october for 2 nights and absolutely loved it!! Paula was very nice and got us to feel at home. The room was very nice, spacious, clean. Paula recommended us some local places where to eat and it was just phenomenal! Thanks also to Paula to get us a great place where to rent some bikes for the day; she gave us indications on how to get to a cheese farm just outside Amsterdam. It gave us the chance to see the countryside and it was just beautiful.
The breakfast was just amazing, fresh squeezed orange juice, fresh fruits, local cheeses, ham and Paula's smoked salmon omelette was just a little piece of haven.
Thanks again Paula!!

“Honeymooners”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 November 2011

My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon in Sep 2010. Paula and Jan were nice and really helped us feel at home, when we were so so far away from home. We booked a canal view room and the view was lovely. We were greeted by Paula, and she recomended some good places to eat and visit. The room was very nice with a comfortable bed and the bathroom was beautiful and very modern. The breakfast served was always delicious and usually had an entree (cooked fresh), assortment of fresh fruit, and some traditional dutch breakfast items, including cocoa. Paula and Jan make their guests feel welcome and are reachable by phone, if you need them. When you meet them, you will see that they really care about their guests and want to ensure you enjoy your stay with them. The location is minutes to the leidsplein and quick and convinient access to the trams, which run throughout the city. We give this place 5 stars and recomend anyone to stay there. Thank you Paula and Jan for helping make our honeymoon special!

Room Tip: I recomend the canal view room.

“Great place to stay in Amsterdam, highly recommended”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 August 2011

We booked all 3 rooms for 6 nights for 4 adults and 4 children. When we got there Jan gave us a warm welcome and helped us with all we needed, gave us maps and recommendations for good restaurants and sites in Amsterdam. Jan and his daughter Hetty were available 24/7 on the telephone, and fulfilled all our requests (especially the kids requests for breakfast...)
The location of Tulipa is perfect - 150 meters from the Leidseplein, 30 meters from a tram station. The rooms are great, big and nicely decorated. One of the rooms has a sweet balcony with a view to the canal. Every morning Hetty pampered us with a delicious breakfast in the dining room. There is a free wi-fi, a PC for the guests to use, plenty guide books about Amsterdam, as well as dozens of dvd films to pick from.
During our stay we had a great time, Hetty and Jan were very helpful, and made us feel just like at home, and even better... we will definitely come back to Tulipa again.
