I was going to take my partner to the Grand Hotel Alkmaar for Valentine. Booked the hotel via Booking.com (3 weeks beforehand), made dinner reservations in Alkmaar ecc.
However on Februari 13th I received a phone call from the hotel (17.30 o'clock) that something went wrong with my reservation. They somehow "didn't see the e-mail in time". There was no room available for us.
The only option that was given by the hotel was to help me with booking another hotel. The hotel that they suggested was not at all what I was looking for and all other nice hotels were already booked or too pricy by then. The hotel didnt come up with other solutions or compensations.
Very disappointed by this hotel, of which you would think they are professionals and mistakes like this won't happen.
We stayed home for Valentine this year......
