Nice hotel in the center of Alkmaar. Beautiful rooms, clean, good bed. Breakfast and checkout until 11am. Yes, there is some streetnoise in the evening, but you are staying in the middle of a city. Parking is possible at a garage about 400m from the hotel, good rates. You can walk to see all the sites. Polite personnel.

We stayed here one night. Location is brilliant and only a few minutes walk to the Cheese market and lots of restaurants. We had a room on the top floor and it was fine, although I found the bed a little soft and the shower did not have a strong pressure. The hotel used to be a post office and they kept the elevator which I can safetly say is unique and quirky. You have to hold the button in for the floor you want. Breakfast was fine and I would like next time to try the restaurant attached to the hotel. If you want to go to the cheese market make sure you are their on a Friday and check the dates for when the market is operating. I would also recommend to get there early to get a good place to see the activities.

We had a nice little citytrip to Alkmaar in January and choosing the Grand Hotel Alkmaar was a good decision. We stayed in the junior suite at the back of the hotel and in weekends that is wise since the front is at a street where many noisy people walk by during the night. The room was clean, modern and had a big bath for 2 persons (even with my wife who was 7 months pregnant). The beds were soft and comfortable. The view, well, if you choose the back of the hotel, don't be disappointed when you don't get a great view, but you will get peace and quiet in return. Besides, Alkmaar is too pretty just to remain staring out of your window anyways, just go for a walk. Breakfast left nothing to be desired.

I have stayed here for one night. The hotel is well located in the city and the access is OK, unfortunately you have to walk around some corners if you like to park your car.
Anyway, the hotel has a very nice restaurant where I have eaten once. The price is above the average but the food is good! The breakfast was included and also typical for the Netherlands.
The rooms are nice and clean. I was staying under the roof and the view to the beams where stunning.
I liked it very much and would return!
