The main reason to stay at Auberge du Bonheur is probably the quiet location, close to the woods (and the University). The hotel itself is nothing special, the rooms are rather standard but no complaints. They do try their best to make the rooms and the hotel get an old-fashioned feel but it is apparent that the hotel is pretty newly built.
The rooms have plenty of room to sit down and work and there are also few extra chairs in the room. There is also flat screen TV and free wireless internet which is of course nice. The negative was the small and rather uncomfortable beds. I did not particularly like the design style but that is more a matter of taste (I am more of fan of modern, simple design).
The hotel is located a bit outside Tilburg so a car is preferable to get to/from the hotel. I would however recommend renting a bicycle at the hotel to go exploring the surrounding area - it is not that far by bike to the downtown area were there are plenty of bars, restaurants etc. The hotel also has a good restaurant (a bit pricey) and there is a nice terrace where it is possible to sit down and enjoy a drink.
Breakfast is standard and nothing special. A bit slow service as some others have noted, not a problem unless one is in a hurry (which I unfortunately often am during weekdays).
The rates during summer (and also the part of winter when University students are off) are very good. The rest of the year it is a bit more expensive so not really worth it (and the hotel is at its best during summer).
