So I thought I had seen everything, until I arrived at the Auberge and was put into what was described as their "best" room--which had no closet! It had three decorative hooks on the wall by the door which one could use to hang a very few hangers on. A hotel room without a closet--truly a first. But the biggest problem with this hotel was the noise. One could hear doors banging/closing not only one's own floor but all over the hotel. And the hotel fronts a busy road. And the hotel is, of course, near nothing except the university (which is why i was staying there). Nice people and the room was nicely decorated. But otherwise, not a good choice.

Just outside the inner city of Tilburg (3km) Auberge du Bonheur is beautifully situated in a green area. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The food in the restaurant is excellent.
The prizes for the rooms are surprisingly low!
For me as a Tilburg citizen it's clear this Hotel is by far the best choice to stay if you want to visit the city even though it's located slightly off center.

This was our second visit to the Auberge Du Bonheur hotel having previously stayed their in February 2008. This was my third visit to Tilburg and we decied to return to this hotel due to the excellent price we were quoted when using Trip Advisor to search for suitable accommodation.

About a 10 minute taxi drive from Tilburg Central Station, the exterior of the hotel is superb when approaching and is certainly a 'wow' factor. An attractive old Dutch house with an adjacent purpose built hotel wing where the majority of the rooms are situated.

One downside is that the rooms are dated and if we're slightly modern this would provide this hotel with more appreal factor. Good sized rooms, with nice, modern and very clean bathrooms. The carpets in the hotel could do with either cleaning or replacing as our room's was covered in stains and marks. Very comortable beds, which pleased my partner alot.

Overall would recommend the Auberge Du Bonheur for the value for money, no issues with any of the staff, all friendly and responsive. Would consider staying here again but when taking into account the taxi costs would more likely stay in one of the city centre hotels next time.

All in all very good hotel. Very good beds and pillows. High quality shampoo etc. in the room and as well bathrode(s) available, but only one per room. We got another one by asking from the reception. Quiet in spite of the fact that it is close to very busy road. Very good selection of drinks in minibar. Breakfast was on average, standard level. very good location for a walk or jogging in the forest. Free internet WLAN.
Only minus is the connection to the city centrum, basicly you need to use taxi or own car.
