“This hotel is anything but a 4-star hotel, be aware!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 September 2011

We stayed in this hotel for one night and we invited (wedding anniversary celebration). The hotel was booked since it is closely located to theme park The Efteling and reason for staying here the night before we visited Efteling. The hotel is anything but a 4-star hotel and very dated. We had a family room, which included a bunk bed for the children. The decor of room was dark and very dated (1970's) so was the bathroom. The room did not have air-conditioning and too noisy to open windows. The beds were made up with blankets and the carpet was smelly. Also, the matrasses had a plastic protection cover which was not pleasant. So ... this is not a 4* hotel and should be avoided when you are looking for one. I am afraid that we were disappointed, will not stay at this hotel again and do not feel comfortable by recommending it to others.

Room Tip: When you are after a 4* and modern hotel, do not choose this hotel!

“Could be so much better”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 November 2008

I stayed at this hotel for one night whilst on business in Tilburg area.

I've stayed at this hotel before and written a review of it previously for this website. I am not sure if I was on medication before, as I now can't believe that I was so complimentary about the place. This is a big, modern hotel, but it could be so much better.

I had an aeroplane "suite", but I am not sure how these differ from other rooms in the hotel apart from having a huge framed poster on the wall showing the cockpit of a Boeing 747 airliner. Fascinating, but not terribly relaxing. There was a whirlpool bath, but being on business I had limited time and not enough time to use this.

I was also unable to obtain a WiFi signal in my room, despite this being advertised as available in all rooms. The room was also very small (hardly enough room to sit at the desk without moving the bed).

I did not eat an evening meal at the hotel

Breakfast was also disappointing. self-serve coffee vending machine, hot dog sausages and rubberized scrambled eggs. Nasty

In summary, I would not choose to stay here again. In fact had I not been keen to increase my Best Western Gold Crown points I would have stayed elsewhere and travelled further to my meeting.

This is a big, friendly hotel, but it just lacks something in the way it's furnished and run. It just doesn't meet the expectations that I had.

“Business Hotel - with line dancing!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 January 2008

Stayed one night at this hotel as I had to visit a client in Tilburg.
From the outside it strikes you as a 'business' hotel which continues as you enter although the evening I arrived there seemed to be a line-dancing event taking place making parking a nightmare.
I stayed on the 3rd floor and although asking for a non-smoking room seemed to get one - the hotel's aprroach to clearing the atmosphere was one of trusting open the windows which as you can expect in January made for a 'chilly' arrival. As rooms go nothing special with only the basics provided (TV, shampoo in bathroom etc.,). As with previous visits to Best Western's in Europe I always get the impression they use the brand to make the hotel somthing that it isn't.
As I arrived late both myself and my guest couldn't get a meal in and went into Tilburg. Cab is the best option working out around €15 each way.
Breakfast is nothing to write home about although there was a good selection of hot and cold food available.
If you are looking for a a couple of nights stay i'd say this place is OK. However being around 2 miles east of Tilburg and adjacent to a busy road juntion, it is clearly positioned toward the business traveller and not families.

“It had some shortcomings”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 June 2007

It's not air-conditioned so it's hot in the summer. If the windows are open, there is heavy road noise, because it is located between the A58 and its exit ramp.
The restaurant was good.
They have reception rooms for hosting large events and the large parking lot can be quickly filled. So you may find yourself with a room but no parking space and the city parking inspector circling around.

“Yucky Yucky”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 April 2006

This "4-star" hotel is in a remote location not close to anything whatsover. When we arrived close to 9 p.m we were told they stop serving food at 9. So we asked for a taxi to be ordered. It never materialized. First off, the hallway lights are on motion sensors that often no not work, so making our way to the room was a difficult task, much like negotiating an underground cavern.

The room was shabby, with 3 tiny single cots. The furniture was scratched and gauged, and the bathroom 70's brown complete with a moldy shower curtain.

Do not waste your money. Do not stay here!
