“Nice Hotel but need renovation”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 July 2011

We went to this hotel this last week end (July 15th and 16th 2011) with a familly of 6 (3 rooms)

The location is in the wood, at less than 10 Km from eidhoven. There is a bus that stops in front of the hotel, but having a car is much more convenient.
This hotel is Huge, so many rooms, corridors, you can be easily lost on your first stay. The front desk person is professional. Rooms are small, I do not know if this is a 3 or 4 stars, but it is more a 2 stars regarding the rooms. We had to book 2 rooms for 2 adults and 2 kids (2 and 5) which makes the nightly price up, Beds are too soft, bad quality, old carpet, some parts are dirty, really needs renovation. The bathroom does not contain a bath tube, but is clean with low price materials. Facilities, we wanted an indoor swimming pool for the kids, and we spent a good time, the health room is okay, not fancy, lot of outdated material, you can workout with confidence.
The restaurant is so, so expensive, $25 for a low price Rosé bottle of wine, menu is $30, main course is $25. the quality is okay, but we expect more for the price.
Breakfast is $18 and is okay

Parking was free, internet is not free and expensive

The experience was overall okay, hotel needs renovation, great facilities that also need renovation, if you get a great price go with it. for a familly of four, maybe try the Novotel that offers a better price for familly room

“Fit for Purpose”

Stayed at this hotel as part of a coach tour and only stayed the one night. However the hotel was very clean although the room was a little cramped. We stayed on a Sunday and it was very refreshing to find that on a Sunday the breakfast was available until midday and check out time was 17:00Hours. Good choice of breakfast buffet and the service was prompt and efficient. The well stocked bar was open till late, another added bonus. All round a good clean hotel.

“Nice on first visit, let us down on return”

We stayed here on way to Denmark and all went well with pre-booking and late arrival. It was a long way to the room. Clean and very quiet but carpet was badly stained - why do hotels not understand that this is off-putting? Couldn't fault overall cleanliness, size of room and facilities. Good breakfast but this was extra cost (paid 89 euros for double room on internet). Decided to stay here on the way back last week and arrived without pre-booking at about 22.00 . Between my husband going to check availability at the desk and coming back to the car for his passport and credit card, the price of the room went up from a quoted 74 euros to 120 euros!! They wouldn't or couldn't alter this, so we went to another place along the road - much cheapr and just as nice. I'd be pushed to go back and stay here after that kind of service - there are other choices.

“Good value, clean, lovely staff - just needs more signage.”

I stayed one night in this hotel in Velthoven. The room was small, very clean and very adequate for my needs. Good water pressure in the shower. I met friends for a meal in the Porticata restaurant which I thoroughly enjoyed. The hotel is vast out and it's difficult to get one's bearings. You are provided with a map when checking in, but it's not very specific. More signs could be displayed in English. There was a great selection for breakfast, which I thought was expensive at 18 euro. Staff are polite, efficient and helpful. It's easy to reach from airport by bus. I would recommend this hotel; I'd stay there again and look forward to knowing my way around.
Martina, Ireland.

“Very large hotel - like a maze”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 October 2010

Not a bad hotel, in fact its a very large one. It's almost like a maze and yu would need directions to find a particular room/location. Only problem is, it's also like a ghost town with hardly any staff you would bump into. Rooms were not very large but ok and so was the bathroom. Clean. It's got a heated pool, very scenic surroundings and a place you would love to stay if you would like a getaway from the city. It's also quite far from the Amsterdam city. We were with a big group and coach so it wasn't a problem. Couldn't locate any public transport. Best for people with a spa and lonely at countryside sort of holiday. And conferences.
