Smoke filled bedroom upon arrival. Therefore unable to unpack our clothes because they would have smelled of "their" cigarettes, in a supposedly "smoke-free" hotel. After reporting it, nobody came with an air-freshener to sort this. Neither could they move us to another room because the hotel was fully booked up, so we were told.
There were only 3 coat hangers in our wardrobe. No rubber slip-mats in any of the bathrooms in this hotel. On our final day, the cleaning staff removed our cups and so we couldn't have an early morning drink in our room.
Food:
Breakfast = No cereals, sausages, tomatoes, marmalade, toast, tea, water. All you get is boiled eggs, hard bread rolls, butter, jam, sliced meat & cheese, orange juice, (every day!).
Evening meals = Not enough food available. No bread rolls for soup. No alternative choices. No fresh fruit. Mouse for pudding 3 nights on the trot. No tea, coffee, or water at night. Had to pay 2.25 Euros for 250ml water. Dry fish for one meal. Chicken portion & pasta & veg were OK. Pork medallions were tough, undercooked and pink in the centre. No jugs of water on the tables - this forced customers to buy drinks at the Bar and bring them back to their tables during mealtime.
Staff = not enough staff available in the whole hotel. No Porters either, so lug your own heavy cases in yourself.
Service = There is a double standard happening in this hotel because we noted on our final evening that a party of children from a different group (not in connection with ours) received preferential treatment which included: large jugs of drinking water on their tables supplied by the hotel staff, better restaurant food for them on the following breakfast. They had a better variety and we Brits received a standard no better than you'd get at a Youth Hostel, rather than from a 4 star hotel.
Ambiance = Each morning we awoke to the fragrant smell of the neighbouring farmer's muck spreader wafting through the air at the front of the hotel - and the 5.30am cockerel.
Verdict = Never again. Not in my lifetime.
