When arriving at the hotel by car, drive close to the car park entrance gates and that will automatically activate them. Prior to our arrival there was a lot of snow, yet no attempt was made to salt the car park to make walking safer or driving vehicles easier.
The checking in process was very smooth and efficient, with plenty of information given about the amenities and the locality. The area is ideally located to be far enough from the noise, but near enough to stroll to. There are many good restaurants close by.
The breakfast buffet choice was excellent with an abundance of cereals, breads, cold buffet, fruit, hot buffet consisting of streaky bacon, sausages (bit bland), scrambled and boiled eggs, beans and tomatoes. Fried and Poached eggs can be cooked to order. Breakfast was far superior to the Tulip located close to Eindhoven.
In the room, there were lots of TV channels including, BBC 1, 2, 3, 4, World, Al Jazeera English news, Spanish, Dutch, German, Italian , French and a few others. The bed was firm, but comfortable. Their was one English 3 pin socket by the desk, along with other local 2 pin sockets. Although we were situated near the lift, it was very quiet with good soundproofed rooms. However, with the centralised AC we found the air dry in the bedrooms, for the first two nights, causing us both to wake up during the night very thirsty. Fortunately we had plenty of water with us to drink during the night, although the room does provide water at a charge. The room was not hovered during our 3 day stay and the bins were not emptied, or drinks replenised on the Sunday.
The swimming pool was narrow, but probably 20-25 metres in length. There are 2 Saunas and a gym consisting of a rowing machine, treadmill, cross trainer, curls bar, bench, free weights and a fixed weight machine. Water was provided in the gym, which was just as well as it was pretty hot in there, even with -10 temperatures outside.
There was free Wi-Fi access in our bedroom and throughout the hotel. Additionally the internet can be accessed for a charge via the television in the bedroom.
We found all of the staff we came into contact with very helpful and friendly. One of the receptionists even helped us sort out a problem on our PC when we couldn’t access the Wi-Fi.
