Reading some of the reviews, I was curious how the hotel would be. I've slept several times in a Golden Tulip and I must say that this doesn't feel like a 4-star hotel. I've stayed at Golden Tulip hotels that were a lot better then this one. May be they should rate this hotel as a Tulip Inn.
Room was OK with big windows facing the park just in front of the hotel. I had a good and quiet night at the hotel, which was OK. Breakfast was OK, nothing special.
I would recommend this hotel to people looking for a quiet & relaxing break. Seen the location, it's interesting to rent a bike and discover the area.

Spent some short time here on business during a very cold period of weather in November 2009. The room was freezing cold and the radiator 'hidden' behind an ornamental grill. Removed the grill to find that the carpet under the radiator had evidently not been cleaned for several months. General standards of cleanliness were barely average. The room was spartan, but the bed comfortable. The bathroom, a somewhat idiosyncratic conversion, had a good shower but was poorly lit. Staff friendly enough but overall very poor value for money.

A character hotel located in a pleasant wooded area. We chose the hotel on price and location - near to where we had meetings. The hotel has character but could do with some modernisation. My room was of a reasonable size, with high ceiling and decorated in an older Dutch style. The bathroom needed an update and was barely adequate.

The restaurant was popular and the food of an OK standard (price and quality).

Overall, I would use the hotel if you had a reason to stay in the area. It is possible to walk in the woods and a 10 min walk takes you into the old town.

A 'Beef' I have with all the Golden Tulip hotels is that they fail to provide an adequate WiFi - a pay as you go hotspot, if you can find one, is the best you will do! This is a major deterrent for me and probably for a lot of business customers.

I quite liked the location of the hotel which is next to a forest but trying to drag my suitase over the gravel and through the restaurant that is on the terrace was a bit strange/embarrassing as I arrived at lunchtime.
My room was a bit peculiar (single with shower) in that it was much taller than it was wide. Fortunately the window took up most of one of the walls and was openable and the view was passable (over flat roofs below onto some trees - not too bad) There were no tea and coffee facilites in the room which meant I had to go to the bar for a cup of tea after my long journey. As a lady travelling on her own I do like to be self sufficient but it wasn't too scary. Quite civilised. Got a good last minute rate and may stay again if it falls into my price range.
Staff all okay - no problems. breakfast was okay too - but not fantastic.
