We were blown away on arrival, the taxi driver commented that we were staying at a beautiful hotel and he was right.
The staff are so friendly and professional.
It was so peaceful.

Awesome hotel, great rooms, very modern. Staff is so superfriendly! Use the valetparking if you come by car. Wonderful to be sleeping in a monastry!

This is a hip hotel with fun interior design and furniture -- an example par excellence of the practical, secular use the Dutch can put an old religious building to. The lobby/lounge and adjoining elevated library with free wifi and a nice collection of books and magazines was a highlight. It's unfortunate there's a cost to get internet in your room (something we were informed would soon be changing), though the library is an inspired place to work or simply curl up with an iPad, and the bar staff are happy to deliver a beverage up to you. Our standard room was well-appointed, clean and comfy; no complaints about the rain shower or the lovely toiletries. A daily afternoon delivery of bottled water and fresh towels is a nice touch. The in-house restaurant served a classy haute cuisine dinner, undoubtedly enhanced by the spectacular balcony-like setting, yet the service was really lacking. Though a sweet person, our server was inexperienced, unfamiliar with the menu and generally inefficient. The buffet breakfast delivered a good selection of cereals, fruits, cold cuts, cheeses and some hot dishes, though again the service was lackluster. Our waitresses on both mornings seemed indifferent. Better training of the restaurant staff would take the Kruisherenhotel to the next level and convince me to come back.

Stayed in the hotel this weekend, a present for my significant other for his birthday. Couldn't have chosen better. The setting is wonderful, the restored old church and monastery and the super ultra modern furnishing of both the rooms and the public areas - really a superb blend. The lighting in the whole hotel is amazing, the modern furniture and lights somehow accentuate the 15th century building and they do not take anything away from it.
We also had dinner in the hotel, I had booked a package that included a 4 course dinner with drinks. The dinner was nice, it was good but not great. The wine pairing was good. the service was great. If I had to do it all again I think I would probably book the arrangement that combined the overnight stay with dinned in Chateau Narcanne (different location) as I can see from the comments here that it is the top rated restaurant in Maastricht.
The overall stay/package was pricey, so it is something reserved for truly special occasions. It is not that it was not worth the money, but it is definitely overpriced for something that you would do more frequently than once a year.
One minus (in my book it is a pretty big minus, but the hotel was truly spectacular I am not downgrading because of it) - she shower-head in our room could have benefited from a very thorough cleaning. It really is not that difficult to clean you know!
