The NH in Maastricht is comparable to other hotels in the chain we've visited before: modern, clean and comfortable. But there are 'issues' as well: 1) reception is painfully slow and utterly perfunctory, 2) corridors are badly lit, narrow and cramped, 3) internet is priced shamelessly high (limited to 500 MB data transfer), 4) minibar cost is as overpriced as elsewhere.
Our room was neat, clean and spacious, good working desk with exellent lighting. TV reception was 'coarse' with lots of 'snow'; we couldn't find radio reception. Comfortable bed. Excellent bathroom with the usual amenities.
The hotel is well-suited for the MECC (the exhibition halls of Maastricht), the well-known Medical Centre and the interesting Bonenfanten Museum. It's rather far to 'town' afoot but there are frequent train and bus services which take only a few minutes.

Stayed here for 3 days, an average experience with nice rooms if you dont mind to pay 12,50 extra per night for an upgrade.
What bothered me the most was the ridiculus prices in the minibar and the room service menu, they ask you 5 euro for bringing it to your room. I was sick for a day so I had to let my wife go to some supermarket on the train station to get some reasonable food. Cost for the taxi to there and back where cheaper then some food in the hotel. Also breakfast at 20 euro per person is just NOT done I believe.
The Reception area is nice but the service needs some improvement, especially in speed. They are just to slow.
The rooms are nice and spacious and I thank the housekeeping for cleaning up the room, it was nice when we came.

Ovarall this is not a bad hotel to stay but it is all in the details.

Nice hotel with a good breakfast, but a bit far away from the center. You can take the train into the center which leaves every 10 minutes or so, as well as a bus. Good if visiting the convention center.
