Indeed, the website is misleading as one does not stay at the actual castle. But the annex is still romantic and lovely. There are trees, hills, a pond and the white-washed building itself has history. It is quite the romantic setting. As a guest you can visit the castle, especially if one has breakfast at the hotel. This is regularly served there.
We have been here three times now and every request we had, has been fulfilled without fuss. Service is excellent and there seems to be a friendly atmosphere all round. There are plenty of things to do and see in the near vicinty and one can also take the opportunity and visit The Eifel.
The hotel offers a lounge, a (somewhat pricy) restaurant, a bar, a swimming pool,a fitness centre and sauna. As I said, we have been here three times and each time we have stayed at a different room. The rooms are spacious and comfortable if somewhat outdated (the TV set for instance). Also, we are not impressed with the cleaniness. There is dust to be found and in the last room we stayed in, the curtains came loose from the rail. Hotel management should be aware that the rooms do not get that tired and worn-out feeling they can suffer from so easily and quickly. And may I add that the temperature of the pool could be a slightly warmer?
On the whole the hotel offers great service, a romantic setting and it is hard not to be able to enjoy this hotel in particular and the surroundings in general.
