This place is a deception, a bluff...
When you check their misleading website, you have the impression you will be staying at a fine "chateau-style" (castle) hotel. Yet, when you get there, you will realize that the old (and great looking castle) is just for functions.
The over-priced rooms are located in an ugly-motel style annexe near a busy road.
Furthermore: highly unfriendly service - no public rooms or lounge (as you would expect in a "kasteel" and a bar (again with lousy service) which looks like a train-station buffet rather than a so-called castle). Forget that place. If you are in search of a REAL castle-like hotel nearby with good service, fine rooms, great atmosphere, fine public salons, a great bar and excellent restaurant, you are much better off in the nearby Hotel Kasteel Bloemendal. And it's far closer - and quieter located - to the cozy city centre of Vaals.

Vaals is a small town in Holland, nestled in that border spot for Germany, Belgium and Holland. It is actually just a few minutes from Aachen in Germany.
We stayed at the Dolce Kasteel (castle/chateau) Vaalsbroek for one night in November. You don't stay in the Kasteel but there seemed to be rooms and a restaurant there.The hotel complex is quite new and based around the Kasteel. It seems to cater mainly for conferences but there was plenty of private visitors like us.
The rooms are nicely appointed and quite big, ours looked out over a nice babling brook which was quite pleasant. The whole property looks very nice and is situated in the countryside about 5 minutes drive out of the town.

Stayed with large group attending the Equestrian Games. Its postion and accessability ensured minimum travel time to and from the games. Service was better than 5**** in London. All local staff keen to help at every stage. Food and service was swift and with no fuss. I would recommend this venue to any corporate group looking for relaxation. Reception staff doubling up as Concierge worked well. Down side was having no time to enjoy the surrounding countryside and sporting pursuits, maybe next time.............
