I would definitely stay here again- it was directly opposite the station. Friendly helpful staff. I took dinner as room service and it was quick and efficient and hot and tasty. Room was clean and bed was fine although pillows not to my liking, but this is often the way in hotels unless 5 star.

I stayed here for 2 days with friends and we were satisfied with it. The lobby was not attractive and I was a bit worried at first sight but the rooms we had were fine. I was very happy to walk out of the train station and just walk across the street to the hotel and I usually fear hotels near train stations as they are mostly in sketchy areas but the area was clean and safe. The air conditioning in our rooms worked well. The walk to the older part of Maastricht was very nice and not too far. There was a street market outside of the hotel on the weekend when we were there. We really enjoyed having drinks in the bar next to the lobby. It had some old world character to it as opposed to the unattractive lobby and stairs. We did not eat in the restaurant so I cannot rate it. It didn't look so great and the menu was not appealing. It was not a fancy hotel but the good points stood out more than the so-so points. No major problems at all. I will stay there again if/when I return to Maastricht.

The empereur is excellently located if arriving by train as it is directly opposite the station. If you are looking for a modern, contemporary hotel then this isn't it as it has an old fashioned feel and a dated interior. Breakfast is expensive but reasonable and there is a swimming pool in the basement. There is a restaurant and an adjacent bar which sells hot and cold bar snacks and a reasonble range of beers. Staff are efficient but lack a little warmth.

We booked this hotel with my pal for two nights.Room was clean, but there was nothing in minibar ,bathroom was very poor equiped.When I used a toiled my pal rather left room because of poor ventilation solution.We arrived in late night hours so we slept til afternoon hours of next day.When we came back from city, only beds were made, garbage and dishes wasnt cleaned.There is a very good restaurant in hotel.Swimming pool is nice.Internet is charged and very slow, impossible for work.
