We paid 86 euro 's (2 Night Getaway offer) for two nights including breakfast. The rooms are quite small but complete ( bed, chair, table and tv) and clean. Bathroom with shower, and bathroom-amneties. A smell window tot open. In the summer the rooms will be to hot ( no airco). Restaurant. service is friendly, 3 course dinner 21.50. Food was good. A large beer half litre 6 euro. A glass of Rose wine 4 euro. Breakfast in the weekends till 12.00 am. Breakfast buffet very good with enough choice. Breakfast is normally 15 euro's pp. So including in this offer it was a very good price we paid.
On every floor they have 'smoking balconies' with ashtrays. Handy for the smokers amougst us.
Parking facillities are fine and large and you are near the motorway.
Not a hotel to stay in long but a weekend of 3 nights is oke.

We stayed here by the end of December 2009 just for one night to visit friends who live in Haren. It is a relatively cheap and convenient place to stay although without any atmosphere.
To my experience Mercure hotels usually have a higher standard than this one. It badly needs some upgrading of the interior. Staff was friendly, rooms were clean, breakfast is fine. I have been here several times before and all the time I thought it was time for some upgrading of the hotel facilities but it never happened. If you don’t care about atmosphere or outdated interior design the hotel is OK.

We stayed 3 nights here to attend an 80th birthday party of a Haren resident. The room was basic but clean. Being so close to a busy road means you have to sleep with windows closed and there is no air con. Staff at reception were helpful and we used the nearby Park & Ride bus to get into Groningen which only cost 1 euro each return!
Restaurant food was adequate but pricey although amounts and service were both good. Have to commend the housekeeping staff who produced me an iron and ironing board with amazing efficiency! Agree with other reviewer who suggested an update would be good.

I stay here regularly for business, rooms are simple and not air conditioned, they use still blankets and sheets in stead of feather beds. Maintenance seems o.k., but the hotel is a bit outdated. However, can still be good value for money.

Reception and restaurant staff are very friendly and professional and always respond on remarks and questions. What lacks seems to be some management attention: I have stayed there for more than a year now and I have never seen somebody from management. What a pity, there are so much small improvements that I would like to discuss with them.
