In the reservation I´ve asked for a quite room. They gave me a room with view of the external part of the bar - so anything else then quite! I´ve then asked to change the room, they gave me a room to a street, where at 1 am some housebuilders begun to work, with a terrific noise. Nowbody from the Hotel was informed (so they told!!).
Nobody seem to be sorry and the desk personnel was some kind of funny about this situation. I´m travelling for more than 150 days per year, and this was the worst experience ever with an Hotel. Just a nightmare!

This was my fifth stay at this hotel. The area is a perfect place to stay as it is within walking distance to many restaurants and bars. The hotel is very clean and the rooms are always clean. I love the breakfast downstairs as they serve good coffee, fresh breads, cured meat and brie. They also have some eggs and sausage, but you can tell that they will keep the leftover sausage from the day before since they look 'wilted' as opposed to the fresh sausage. I don't eat the sausage, so no big deal to me. If you are on holiday there may be better hotels, but for the business traveller such as myself, I really enjoy my stays at this hotel.

The hotel is in a traffic -free side street of historic buldings in a bustling university town-beware the hordes of cyclists ,imbued with the invincibility of youth,talking on mobile phones!
First impressions are of a smart place with pleasant lounges,and an elegant courtyard/patio.Annoyance starts in the lift ,with a slogan -"who shall you meet in the elevator today?"-on the doors.I suppose this is intended to suggest the possibility of seeing some celebrity.There are lots of other "messages",mostly about how well-run,advanced,or ecologically sound the hotel chain thinks itself to be..
The "designer" should perhaps have spent a night in a room such as mine.It was small for the price ,with the space being made less usable by the dangerously abrasive plaster finish,especially on an external corner,with the additional obstacle of a sharp edged light fitting projecting at my eye level.The other potential for injury was provided by the combination of individual hot and cold taps in the shower (no thermostat) and a varying hot water temperature.
There was no conventional opening window,but doors opening onto a narrow balcony,communal to other rooms.Threfore,leaving them open at night presented an obvious security risk-but the noise of drunks on the "quiet" street required them to be closed! My request for a fan was at first ignored,and then treated as if it were a most peculiar desire.An unsafe item,without a proper blade guard,was reluctantly produced.
There was nothing wrong with breakfast.

A really nice feel about the place - not super luxurious or slick but very comfortable, with a great restaurant and in a great location which is quiet but close to the bustling centre of town
