we stayed at the La Residence Pensione this summer and there were some problems. the owner was never there, no one on property, ever. there was no phone on the premises for local calls like getting a taxi or for an emergency call had we had needed a doctor....reception was bad and our cell phone did not work so we were basically trapped there...she had no normal size towels, i was lucky i had lost weight and had a 21" waist otherwise i could have not gotten the small hand towel around me, each person got one so i had nothing to put my wet hair in as i dripped from the shower across the hall back to our room...smoke fumes from other rooms came in under the door, day and night, it was gross and suffocating....the "dutch breakfast" was awful, processed cheese slices (one per person), ditto on poor quality ham slices and white sliced bread...it was not close to anything, the centre of town was a 3km walk away for bringing back groceries on a weekend, not convenient at all, no good restaurants nearby. nothing.
