There's a reason why I go back to this hotel year after year - and in some cases more than once a year! You always get what it says on the tin!

It is a relatively small hotel but it has a great location, within walking distance to the main town centre (great market on Saturdays!) and restaurants. The rooms are rather small and try to avoid getting allocated one at the back of the hotel. If you get the right room you will have a view over the river from where you can watch the boats pass by day and night. There's a decent selection of channels for the TV but no coffee/tea stations although a small bottle of mineral water is provided.

The bathrooms are also on the smallish side, but clean.

A laundry service is possible during the week.

The breakfast is always the same - good quality coffee and a small but decent selection of continental breakfast - including warm buttery croissants!

The hotel does not offer dinner but there are a variety of restaurants nearby, ranging from the Pannekoeken boat which serves pancakes while cruising up and down the river at set times. Similarly, for dinner there is also another boat serving meat on skewers with a fantastic atmosphere. Best of all, both are just across the road! Taking a stroll towards the casino there is a strip of restaurants including a particularly good Italian one with a small menu serving quality food!

Parking is limited. You may not park in front of the hotel but if you arrive early they might just allow you to park next door - but this is never guaranteed and possibly the only drawback of this small but great hotel!

The good: a pleasant walk through the town past shops and stores to the river Waal led us to the hotel. We had room 66, which had a lovely view of the river and bridge, a comfortable bed and room to stretch out.

Breakfast was included with our room, and was of good quality, the standard fare of cold cuts, boiled eggs, bread, fruit and cereal. There's also a nicely stocked bar.
Oh, and there's a direct entrance to the bike museum from the hotel, which was a lovely bonus.

The bad: Nothing. We plan to go back,

The curious: Just the standard northern european habit of pushing two twin beds together and calling it a double.

This place is a very good value for its location, cleanliness, and freindly staff. The breakfast is fantastic. Free wireless internet too... The only drawback is the lack of parking, but they are helpful in recommending and finding you a car place.

We have stayed at this small family-run hotel a number of times, and we always like the friendly and courteous service that we have received. Bedrooms tend to be small but, on this occasion, we upgraded to a suite - basically a large room with easy chairs. The suite had an excellent view over the river to the bridge, so we were able to watch the boats passing by.

It's an easy walk to the centre of town and to the restaurants on the riverbank - important as the hotel doesn't serve any food in the evenings. Restaurant Het Heimwee is about 20 minutes walk along the river, and the food there is absolutely fantastic!

In the hotel, coffee machine is available in the bar; and there is free Internet access.

What makes the hotel interesting is the Bicycle Museum which is part of the hotel.
