This hotel is more a resort since they not only offer rooms but also offer meeting rooms and many sport facilities (although no pool actually inside the hotel). Because of the sporting facilities many athletes from all over Europe visit the complex for training purposes.

We stayed in the hotel for a multiple day business meeting. Facilities were ok, WIFI around the complex. F&B was also very descent. Especially nice breakfast every morning.

The settings of the resort are lovely in the middle of a forest, the resort itself is surrounded by a golf course.

What i didn`t like was the hotelroom that was offered to me. The room was truly to old and simple. I found dirt and dust under the beds, no AC and the windows were open upon arrival. Because of the open window there were some flies in the room..
Bed was very soft and not comfortable.

Complaints about the rooms reported to front desk, but no apologize received (disappoiting).

I understand there are also newer rooms available. If you want to sleep in this hotel, ask for the newer rooms.

I stayed here for a couple of days in early September. The hotel is in a beautiful forested location, really pleasant surroundings with a good Gym. But, I found that the rooms were average and the mattress was way too soft for me, so not great sleep quality. Breakfast is help yourself, with a really good selection and the dug out bar is also good. The on site restaurant is disappointing with no real atmosphere and a very small choice on the menu, a real shame. The location is great for cycling which the hotel can arrange (10 Euro for whole day - 22 Euro for electric bike) and the Burgers Zoo and De Hoge national park are must visits and both within a leisurely cycling distance. Staff are really good - Zischa on front of house is really helpful and efficient. Somewhere I would return to.

Hotel Papendal is part of the National Sports Centre of the Netherlands. By car it is about 15 minutes from the city centre of Arnhem. I was ther for a conference. The hotel has a 4-star and a 3-star wing. Make sure that you book a room in the 4-star side if you want more than the basics.

I stayed for a business meeting at Papendal and I booked a 3-star room as I didn't know about the 3-star or 4-star choice. It turned out to be a basic, small room, a bit like a boarding school. Free internet. Breakfast was excellent with freshly baked eggs but also with a lot of healthy choices.

Very impressed with the high class and modern decorations. It has exapnsive grassland for mini golf, strolling and cycling. The double Silver Room is spacious and stylishly designed. The lounge has very nice atmosphere and delicious food. The Restaurant 20 28 has very nice and modern decor with deliously cooked breakfast and expensive set meals (EUR30.50), overlooking the grassland. The hotel also has relaxation facilities, such as sauna, steam room, and fitness gym. It also has conference facilities, with conducive rooms for presentations and discussions. The only disadvantage is that it is tucked rather far in from the main road. To reach the hotel, take bus 105 from Arnhem Centraal bus station for a 10-minute ride, then walk for 1km. This hotel is about 5km from the famous De Hoge Veluwe National Park, which houses the famous Kroller-Moller Mesuem. Either rent a bike from the hotel for EUR10 per day or take bud 105 for about EUE3.20 to reach the Park. After that, you will need to cycle a few km to the Museum using the free white bicycle in the Park. I enjoyed this hotel very much in The Netherlands.
